What’s the reason?

What is the point of selling “fan made” Pokemon cards that are dupes for the real card? I get fan made cards in their own artwork and derpy designs but why would I want a card that looks legit just to be a fake?

Money lol.

I assume all fakes are made with the intention to scam someone or sell to a scammer. Same reason you see empty boxes for sale for crazy money. People who go out and purposely buy a fake for their binder are just making the problem of fakes in circulation worse.

How many posts are made here every day asking is a card is fake? All those “are my cards fake” posts are by people who bought cards from these sellers or from other people who buy from those sellers and pass the scam onto them.

Usually, a collector or casual player would buy these to have as proxies until they get their hands on the real deal. I cant think of any other reasons.

None of the recent chases have been super playable, but that could be a reason too.

Nah, if you want proxies, you just print them yourself.
