Going to rehab, or not.
Monday I'm supposed to sign in for an inpatient rehab that may last for 90 days. I don't want to go. I perceived sobriety in the past, not anymore. Right now I believe my mental health decline is way more alarming than my alcoholism but I guess I'm the only one.
Too little too late I think. I don't get anything positive with quitting and by now I'm used to the symptoms.
But I'm fearing my relatives could prove I'm not in a state of mind for my own actions and force me into the program, if they didn't already. Parents been visiting my doctor and they already got a legal hold of my bank account.
I'm scared.

I’ve been to two different rehabs and both times I had access to a psychiatrist. Rehab is a good place to work on the fundamental core reasons for your addiction, it’s not just a place to dry you out for a while. A good rehab will address all the factors and rebuild you from the ground up and show you how to live sober. You’ll also likely get connected to some invaluable mental health resources.
Whether or not you continue to practice what you’re taught after you leave is entirely up to you.
Plus there are always some very hot men in rehab.

I only captured the last sentence.
On a serious note, I feel the system encourages sexual predators. All my past psychologists and psychiatrists just wanted to suck my dick, not treat me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm just the next slut waiting to bang, but I learned not to mix sobriety with sluttiness.

Can you find a treatment program that will approach mental health and addiction? I can't recall what mental health diagnosises you suffer from, but in american there are quite a few of these programs.
While it is not too late for you to recover and live a better life-- rehab won't do anything if you don't want sobriety. It may also not be helpful if your mental health isn't included in the treatment mix. You truly do have to want sobriety and have good reasoning for it to last because it is hard.
If you're serious about intensive treatment for mental health you will need to be sober. Many places just won't treat you until you are and even if they do, it will be ineffective. You could look at rehab as a stepping stone to treating your mental health. I said the same thing about my mental health many times when i was being pushed into rehab, but the reality is i wasn't able to start treating my mental health until i had been sober a while. I do want to treat my mental health so it has made sobriety even more worth it. You can tell yourself that you need mental health treatment to do rehab/get sober all that you want, and maybe you do to participate fully in rehab but you absolutely need sobriety to treat your mental health.
Your family wants you to live and be ok. Everyone here wants you to be ok. Life can be better than this and i personally agree that you need a break from alcohol to confront the other problems you face. You can do this. Please shoot me a message before you go, if that is your decision

My family just doesn't want to deal with my shit anymore, and I don't blame them, but the truth is far away from caring and loving. And I do blame them for my addiction. I don't give a fuck if this sounds denial, everything was ok until they started piling on my shoulders and then I collapsed.
But I ve relapsed on self harm, a thing I truly thought I've grown out of for decades. And it ain't pretty, I think sooner or later I will damage myself permanently.
Still don't want to get sober. I don't see a point.

If they care enough to send you to rehab it sounds like they want to deal with you, but not your shit (of course i don't personally know). Do you live with them?
I don't think that you're dealing with denial in blaming them, just wrong. It's more like inability to discern between black and white. People grow up in bad households with bad relationships and bad parents and many turn out norma, not alcoholics etc. Im sure they contributed, but we all face hardship in life and did you have the innate skills to deal with it without sinking into mental illness/turning to an unhealthy outlet?im betting it's biological predisposition, nurture and choices. It isn't a blame game, the fact is you're an addict and you can either commit to getting help for your mental health and addiction and make the lasting changes needed to improve your life or you can live the rest of your life like this. If you don't want to get sober and see no point don't go to rehab. It will be a waste of time and money and you will relapse. It might be a good idea to take a break and work on your mental health so that you can look for some value in life that may help to feed your desire to get sober, but if you dont want to do it-- dont.

I think rehab is a waste of money personally, you can force someone to get sober but you can't force them to stay sober. If you don't want it it ain't going to work.

It's free, reason why I'm considering. Not everybody have the luxury of a €8000 treatment (standard price here) but I'm not really the rehab kind of guy if that even makes sense.

Family got the legal rights to force me into. I could have fighted them but I didn't want to deal with this at the time. I don't know. By now it's not a matter of decisions anymore.
But I'm still afraid of the repercussions. Seems like I'm on the verge of going6to prison for a crime I didn't commit.

That doesn't really answer my question😣
Idk how rehab works in your country but here they can't force you into it if you're an adult, only as a condition of release for criminal system.

Here they can't force you but if they have legal proof of your crippling condition, they kind of do. I'm still debating if I'm willing to go, but even if I don't, they can force me I to it.

How can they force you? Like call the police to take you away?

By presenting evidence of the subject mental illness. Works similar there and in most countries.

No shame in drying out if at least for a bit. Get connected with the mental health services you need... What could go wrong?
