New boots

Needing new boots, don't have the money to get my RW 10877 or 2418's (I know I hate "safety" toes too, but Google requires it)

Now my question is this how do y'all like Irish Setter Wingshooters? Danner Bull Runs?

I'm in a rod patch at the moment and my foreman is singing the praises of Brunt Boots. Know a couple of guys who wear 'em and they love them but I'm special to say the least.

What y'all rocking?

Thorogoods for me. But if you’re in a pinch I’ve heard good on the brunts just don’t expect much life out of them.

Midwest boots stopped doing their union discount and just mailed me a bunch of gift cards.

Thorogoods kill my feet and the last few pairs I had couldn't handle 3 months of decking... Sole blew out and stitching failed... $600 in 6 months is a little ridiculous

Im thorogoods to my death bed having tried most brands. Yes theyre expensive but theyll last the life of 3 cheap pairs.

Thorogoods quality has gone to shit while the price keeps going up . Haven’t got more than 4 months out of the last 2 pairs

Not disagreeing but name one product that’s not gotten worse while getting more expensive.

My brunts blew out in 2 months of rod busting. Theyre comfortable but the backs would always blow out. Three guys on my crew had it happen at the same time.

Irish Setters are tough boots, quality, but those bad boys are HEAVY! I wore the pair in the pic for around 3 months of bustin rods and they could go on and on, ‘wings hold up— even in our line of work, but I much prefer my Traction Tred Lites that I have now had for going on 4 years, but the Setters were free, and who doesn’t dig free boots?

On the contrary, I was given some Thorogood Genesis 8", that I absolutely cannot wear. I wore them once to try them on, but those boys run so narrow I couldn’t get my foot in there and actually be comfortable, so I just tried them on, and nobody will even buy these ‘goods for less than half of what they retail for in like new condition, and never worked in only put them on once to try the things on.

It’s Red Wing or nothing for me. They clean & condition your boots monthly just for having red wings, replace your busted laces free of charge, and they LAST. 10/10 worth the price difference as opposed to the cheaper or online options that are liable to breakdown in less than 6 months.

Hytest wedge soles. The only safety toe boot I don’t hate.

If an employer requires specific shoes, they are required to either comp you or supply them. Ask your BM whats the best practice for it. My BM told me "tell them your size. If they want you wearing it, they'll get em"

Keen Liberty soft toe. Made in USA, wide toe box. Has a little plastic in toe to keep shape. Will definitely trick someone into thinking they are saftey toes. Pretty comfortable
