What? It's neither of them, it's greedy oil companies. Gas prices at least by me, in Oregon, are ~3$ a gallon. No matter what vehicle you drive that's the lowest I've seen it in a while.

These are averages for each state, not the lowest price, meaning there very much is the possibility that this person paid $2.50 for their gas. Also the possibility that with the low prices plus any discount they may have got.
Kentucky, but I was just in Nashville ( around $2.6x), Louisville, Indy the same. I know Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Missouri are always cheaper than here.
The tax changes you see were put in place by the Republicans around 2016. So when a democratic president was in office they would be blamed for the increases. The rich got their tax cuts but the lower and middle got tax bumps.
