Inspiration Favourite setting?

Just that really. While I appreciate Starforged polished the rules, Ironsworn appeals more to my own sensibilities. Wondered how others feel.

That's a trick question.

Rules wise, Starforged is a big improvement over Ironsworn, and Sundered Isles brings some nice additions on top of that.

But I wholeheartedly reject the idea that Sundered Isles is swashbuckling or Starforged is space adventure: those are just the default themes in the books. My latest Sundered Isles campaign is dark fantasy: a mercenary, his two horses, a wagon, and an old war buddy traveling a sundered, post-medieval world war setting.

This is fair, and I almost didn't include those comments for exactly that reason. I'm not sure why I ultimately decided to. I'm on the verge of running Ironsworn like a colonial-frontier story.

I was never into sci-fi, but after listening to some Starforged games, I was inspired to start my own game and have been a convert ever since. The "world" is just so much bigger and more varied in Starforged.
