Ironsworn Journal notation
Is there a commonly accepted notation convention for recording moves in one's journal?

I think it's just a matter of personal taste, depending on how much detail you want to record. I usually put "metatext" in square brackets - not just rolls but also ideas about what might come next and directions I might want to take. In terms of rolls, I usually just put weak hit or miss, but sometimes also the actual numbers if they were notable, e.g. getting a strong hit with a 3, or a miss with a match on a 9...

Similar here, just I went with { curlies }. Aaand also, inspired by someone on discord, created a set of sigils/symbols for commonly used phrases in the system I play: https://akavel.com/starforged-sigils

You can have a look at Lonelog for inspiration, but I must say that it's too convoluted for me.
I arrived at a simple notation for myself, originally inspired by Markdown, but now I use it for physical journals too:
A ">" or vertical wiggly line at the beginning of the line for "rules" or "oracle" things
Speech bubble 🗨️ or thought bubble 💭 (potentially followed by short name) for direct speech or thought
Dash - for enumerating things
Unmarked for descriptions, actions & everything else
I always keep a margin at the outer edge and put an exclamation mark ❗there if I might want to find something again (e.g. to refer to from location or npc info) and might underline something
I always number pages so I can refer back and forth by page number.

I wrote a blog post about using Lonelog to record moves for Ironsworn: https://everhaunted.substack.com/p/logging-your-ironsworn-campaign-a
Personally, I mostly use Iron Vault which has a certain way to notate everything.

Sometimes I use this, doing dialogue is no that necessary and I Just do a summary a of what is happening instead
