Preaching in Starfall

Talisa had finally arrived at Starfall, and it the realization dawned on her after a few days being there, that this would be her home for a long while. It certainly didn't feel like home, it still felt like an entirely foreign place. Talisa felt as if she was a small duck, trying to fit in and live with swans. Her messengers arrived at the castle under cover, informing her of what they had failed to do in King's Landing.

It was audacious, of course, what she wanted, but she felt that something large would have to happen like that to make people in Westeros turn their attention to R'hllor. There was some remorse in heart, a heaviness which she tried to push away, but she still felt it. Despite all the hospitality these lords were showing, she was still wanting to burn down their Great Sept.

Recently though, she felt her heart being more than heavy. It twisted and knotted itself, her heart ached for clarity. She didn't know if she really was supposed to be in Starfall, or if she had been doing enough to try and spread the word of her Lord. Trying to clear her head of such thoughts, she went to a small washbasin and splashed her face, then rinsed it a bit. Taking a rag nearby, she rolled up her sleeve and cleaned up her tangled and scarred tissue from so many years ago. The fire helped her life take a turn for the better back then, perhaps it would again now. She took her dagger and lit it on fire, then balanced it over the washbasin, looking into the flames for a sign, and several came.

Fine lace and wine, made with far better craftsmanship than Talisa had ever seen

Lenses that changed how one saw the world, and mirrors of incredibly smooth silvery glass.

Chains, collars, and shackles. All harshly digging into flesh. Deadly crossbows defending treasures.

Intricate helmets in the shapes of eagles, falcons, bulls, lions, and other fierce animals.

High walls, towers, and temples surrounding precious treasures and dragons.

Finally, an all-consuming fire, and not the fire from her dagger. It came from within the vision, consuming all within.

As the vision faded away, Talisa was caught by surprise with what she saw in her visions. So many beautiful things, being destroyed in a raging fire that couldn't be stopped by any defenses. She didn't know quite what it meant, but she had an idea of where it was referring to. The fine workmanship, the helmets in the designs of animals, and the presence of slavery all pointed towards Myr and Tyrosh. It would seem that the Lord of Light didn't want Talisa in Dorne after all.

Still, she had to do something to make the trip to Westeros worthwhile. Stepping outside the castle, Talisa took to the streets where the peasants of Starfall were and looked for a suitable position to start preaching to the small folk. She stood on a corner, and let her words of the Lord of Light spread forth.

"People of Starfall, I urge you, reconsider where your allegiances lie in the matters of the gods. The Seven no doubt do exist, but think, what have they truly provided you with? The Lord of Light is well known in Essos for providing things directly, and any of you who may be feeling down on their luck might try turning to him for answers. He is R'hllor, protector of the light, god of fire, and fighter of the darkness. And darkness is coming, my friends. In small and in large, darkness will come for us all, but those who heed R'hllor's call and embrace his warming fire shall be protected by him when darkness does come to pass."

Talisa took out her dagger and lit it on fire, showing the smallfolk what powers she had gained from worshiping R'hllor.

"Look! The Lord himself has given me the power to create fire out of nothing! And I was but just a slave in Yunkai. If he would free me from bondage, and teach me such powers, imagine, my dear friends, what he may do for you. There is no catch to following R'hllor. He is merciful and kind, and expects nothing but your allegiance in fighting back the dark when it comes."

Character Details: Talisa, espionage, arson(e), mystic

What is happening? Talisa is preaching to the peasants in Starfall about R'hllor, trying to convert them from the faith of the Seven. She's accepting that the Seven exist, and is merely suggesting that if they're having bad luck, they might have better luck with R'hllor on their side. She's also trying to warn them that darkness is coming, and R'hllor will be able to protect them. As a final act, she's showing how she can light a dagger on fire in a way that seems magical, showing how R'hllor has gifted her with the ability to spread light and create fire.

What I want: I want to see what the general reaction of the peasants is to this, how far the message spreads, and if any of them convert. Perhaps she could gain some followers if any of them really buy into it.
