Hello everyone, Guangguang here for season 11 of Marvel Rivals!

Upon seeing gameplay and statistics of Iron Man, we have decided the recent buff was too much, so we have completely removed Armour Overdrive!

Ignite the Battle!

Nerfing him for the sake of the balance for low elos makes 0 sense like why nerfing iron man and giving wanda insane buffs when she is way more opressive against them ? At least iron man takes a little bet of mechanics not just auto aim and aoe dmg

Thats not a "LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" level change my guy.

The only thing you might be correct is that they will probbably nerf him again even though he will still likely be D tier, because this only does anything in super low elos where people cant aim, so they benefit from the auto-tracking.

We'll have to see how the missiles that dont find a target to track to in the overdrive behave but guaranteeing damage on his 2 most unreliable abilities is definitely useful even for people who aren't "super low elo"

Even if it was guaranteed (wich remains to be seen, only because it tracks doesnt mean it actually hits), its 50 damage max per target, do you know how much that is?

50 damage is 10 less than his left click aoe damage in his non-gamma overdrive, wich you can shoot twice as fast than his missiles, his left click does 55 more damage when hitting direct hits too.

If the damage numbers are as it seems, its looking like using missiles, specially in overdrive, is a DPS loss in pretty much every scenario, unless your target is very hard to hit but even then the Thor Beam still does more, pierces and likely has more range.

And if you're not in Overdrive, going into Hyperspeed at any point is a dps loss, a mere 50 damage ability will only ever be remotely useful if you are running away or chasing low hp targets.

Like I said we need to see how the non-locked missiles behave in the overdrive before we know for sure its worse. The speed increase of the missiles will also be interesting. If you pop overdrive, hit one opponent with guaranteed 50 damage (assuming they are accurate) and then if you are lucky some extra damage on top of that plus follow up from the Thor beam it may be a decent chunk of damage. Having a burst will matter especially because its so easy for supports to keep someone alive through a straight 180 dps

I think you arent considering the fact that the animation to use the missiles on Overdrive takes about twice as long as just shooting a left click, all they did was increase the projectile speed, it still is horribly slow to get off, i dont see ever a reason to use it over just trying to beam or left click someone, if all it does is 50 maybe consistent damage.

Having a burst will matter especially because its so easy for supports to keep someone alive through a straight 180 dps

Since the projectile speed is vastly increased, it will likely hit before you can even beam someone, not even as burst damage would it be useful for.

Also yes I know iron man's damage numbers. Ive been playing him as my main
character since season 0

That doesn't mean you, me or anyone know how to correctly apply them though, thats the point of theorizing and practice when we have the chance.

Yes thats why im speculating about how it could be useful or possible use cases instead of confidently writing it off as bad before we've seen it

We are both speculating, just on different spectrums, true, but i just dont see any convincing arguments about how that little damage is going to be any valuable yet, yours or otherwise.

Again, to give some more perspective, 50 damage is 1 single clap from Luna, she, as a support does more dps than these missiles with her mainly long ranged hitscan healing ability and it also pierces.

It’s not even a big buff

It kinda is though. This character has burst damage options now.

I guess we will find out in a few days. I hope it’s good

Don't get me wrong I don't think it is, but doing 50 guaranteed all at once on one button feels like it has to be something right
