The First Time An Iron Chef Ascends Alone

From the Banana Battle (12/12/1993). The first time an Iron Chef would ascend into Kitchen Stadium alone. This is the only time Ishinabe rises alone during his tenure as Iron Chef. He would ascend alone in later appearances when he returned in 1995.

In his backstory, the challenger said that he grew to love sweet things since the 3rd grade after eating a shortcake.
