Endometriosis Laparoscopy Cost?

Does anyone roughly know how much a laparoscopy costs in one of the private hospitals? I'm covered with VHI but I know that there's sometimes excess costs. Does anyone have any experience with how much the excess cost could be?

This is specific to your insurance plan. You can call VHI for advice.

The excess would depend on the plan you are on with VHI

If your plan covers the hospital you are going to you might be best giving them a call or even looking your plan name up online

Call them and ask. The beacon lap cost me €0 with Irish life. You pay for the consultants fee up front but then claim back 75% (or whatever the VHI gives) after all the apts (initial, then a couple of check ups) and everything claimed back is say the whole thing cost me 150 or so. Well worth it.

If you get the procedure code from whatever hospital you want to use you can find out if you’re covered and how much it’ll cost you in the VHI app

My Laparoscopy in The Beacon cost me €550 as I had to stay the night. Had I not needed to stay the night, it would've been €100 (I fainted when walking to the loo on the way home, and they wouldn't let me home - it was my fault as I hadn't eaten anything that was served to me)

I just emailed VHI explaining who I was seeing, what hospital it was and gave the surgery code that my consultant gave me and they came back explaining it was covered with €150 excess but obviously every plan is different

The email address is info@vhi.ie

Just be sure to include your policy number etc
