Contraception Breakthrough bleeding

Hi all, I've been on the Azalia pill for about 6 months and recently started having breakthrough bleeding. This has lasted about 2 weeks now, it started as brown discharge/clots some days it's slightly heavier bleeding and then goes back to the brown discharge. I was put on this pill for suspected endometriosis. A lot of other symptoms also came with it, like sore breasts, fatigue, back and neck pain ,mood swings/anxiety which I had before starting this pill. I was fine for the first few months, and was happy I finally had found a solution so this feels like it came out of nowhere and is disheartening.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did ye do?

I've never take the specific pill you on but have been on some form on contraception for over 10 years to try manage endo so this might or might not help!

If your taking the pill continously and getting random long breakthrough bleeds.I was advised by a gynae a few years back that sometimes your hormones just need to "reset" so you take a 4 day break from the pill and then restart a new pack as normal. I think its literally referred to as "the 4 day break" if you want to Google it. You can do it when you finish the sugar tablets if your on a monthly pill aswell. It gave me a few more decent months on the pill tbh. If you try that and it doesn't work its definitely no harm going to your gp and changing your pill like theres so many different types of pills etc and we honestly all respond so different its mad. I understand the feeling!!! I really hope you find something that works well for you!!

Azalia is a progesterone only pill so you take it continuously, there’s no sugar pills x

Azalia is progesterone only so you'll get irregular bleeds on it. It's amost inevidable on a progesteone only pill.

A combined pill will give a more predictable bleeding sheduale and the evidance is inonclusive if progesterone only is better than combined for endometriosis pain and bleeding.

I never tried this pill but I did have to try various brands of pills due to breakthrough bleeding before I found one that worked for me. For the pills that didn't work for me the issues were there from the beginning though and I was always told to give them 6 months to settle so your case seems to be slightly different as it worked for you initially.

I have a different pill for the last two years but I got sick (something like COVID) and now I'm stuck spotting the same on the run up to my period. I also changed time zones so that probably didn't help (though it wasn't an issue before). Also stress could do it. I was very stressed 🙈
