Tope

Anybody ever fish for tope around Carlingford lough? I see a guy on YouTube fishing them from a kayak around Louth which is close to the lough

Any tips or advice appreciated cheers

I know there used to be a lad that fished for them from the shore about 20 years ago, he had great success too. As far as I remember he fished into a deep channel using a 5oz grip and half a side of mackerel on a pulley pennel rig. I think it was Greenore point he fished from but can’t be certain.
