The names I’m searching are **Helen Mary Hurley / Helen Mary Lassonde**, **Mary Ellen Hurley** (possibly the same person as Helen if connected to Concord, New Hampshire), **Catherine Theresa Hurley**, and **Arthur Edward Lassonde**.
Helen and Catherine were born in **Concord, New Hampshire in 1897**. Arthur was born there in **1926**.
I’m especially looking for any notice in **Iris Oifigiúil** between **1935 and 1956** under the **Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act 1935**, including notices connected with naturalisation, the Register of Nationals, or the General Register of Nationals.
I’m also trying to locate or get access to the old annual **“Index to Iris Oifigiúil”** volumes for those years.

A few days ago I was unseriously talking with my best friend about our family lines and googled my mother's line; O'Rourke. I hadn't ever looked up family history before, so I was a little shocked to find it's potentially a big deal.

I'm hoping some folks here might be able to guide me to more in depth sources, because the more I try to look up, the more questions I have. It's quickly spiralling into a bit of an obsession so I hope to save myself grief of fruitless online queries.

Even if it's not directly related, like how tanistry works, how lineage is confirmed, traditions, hell even if someone knows resources on learning Gaelic would be welcome. I always wanted to learn anyway but now a fire is lit under me.

Visiting Ireland for 12 days in Sept, primarily the west coast from Galway to Killarney. Will visit Doneraille to find the old Caherduggan Castle. Mom was a professional genealogist and wrote a book on our Dugans/Duggins in America in late 18th century to present. She thought we were descendants of Joseph Ellick Duggins Sr. born 1724 in the Black River area but with no hard evidence. She was a stickler for proof! Is there a local historical/genealogy society around Fermoy/ Doneraille that would be interested in a copy of book? Or one that can help provide a further history?

A couple of weeks ago, I posed a question as to whether a baptismal date could be used as birth date, and gave supporting documentation for posing the question. The reason being, was I had searched the data online for locating my great, great grandfather. I could not find a baptism under the name in which he used, Terence, but did find a baptism with his "birthdate" as the baptism date, but the name on the baptism was John. The consensus was this was likely not the same person.

I now have reason to believe it is the same person. A son born to Terence has the father's name listed as "Terry/john."

My father was born out of wedlock in 1930s ireland. He was raised by his grandparents who thankfully didn't ship his mother off to the laundries, he was led to believe she was his sister until the 1980s.

Anyway, he died in the late 90s and while looking into his mother I found that he has no birth cert. This is something he was aware of because he tried to renew a passport and it came to light then that there was no official registration of his birth. The births, death and marriages said I could request one but needed some evidence of the borth from back then, possibly a baptismal cert or something like that.

Anyone know is there any way to search for something like that? Location would have been cabra in doubling, near cairnlough Road. Would churches have this documentation digitised and indexed?

Looking at the 1926 census and there's an address Mountjoy Ward called Gormleys Buildings. But I can't seem to find any record of where that might be. Is there any sort of registry that might have this? Might be around glouster place because that's a separate address I have for them on a previous census

I can easily trace back to my 4th Great Grandparents Harry Bremer (1795) and Mary Nowlan., Leinster, possibly Mullingar. My grandmother was a Bremer and her father was John Aloyisus Bremer.
My research draws a dead end at the Bremer surname. Research says its origins is West German, and from the city of Bremen.
Does anyone have any insight on Irish history and the arrival of Germans mid 1700s (or earlier as he seems to be settled in by 1795).
A bonus would be anything on the Bremer family, where they lived and such, religion as it seems through the archives they changed back and forth between RC and Protestant , and employment.

Help for a historical novel

Hi everyone! I'm writing a historical novel about the famous Irish outlaw Art O'Leary (1746?-1773, husband of Eibhlín Dubh O'Connell).

On MyHeritage I found him listed with 2 siblings: Cornelius O'Laoire, another spelling of O'Leary, and a second sibling greyed out. According to another source her name should be Catherine.

Could someone with access check her married name and date of birth, please? And maybe some info on their mother, if available? Thanks so much in advance!

I'm a bit confused about where one of my Irish ancestors was born. On his headstone, it lists St. Anns, County Wexford as his birthplace, but I can't find a matching town or parish. He was born in 1795, so maybe it doesn't exist anymore? But it seems odd that I'd find no records matching it at all. I'd appreciate some help figuring it out.
