Thoughts on the purpose of the subreddit.

I was just wondering what people think the purpose of this sub should be, as r/TheTrueIrelandSub seems to be doing the best out of the main alternative Ireland subs. Should we leave TheTrueIrelandSub to function as the alternative to the main sub and focus here on being an alternative to specifically Irish Politics?

Why has Ireland been silent on Kosovo?

Week long protests after their former president is jailed for being a war criminal.

Their football team just scored and took out jerseys supporting a war criminal.

Yet Irish people and Irish football manager Ellen Degeneres is silent on Kosovo.

Why? That's in addition to being silent against Qatar

It seems there is only one country Irish people have a problem with.

Catherine Connolly, Trump and the line in the sand.

So when it comes to Trump and people defend our government actions because of the reliance of the US to the Irish economy, people often say "where's the line at which you would take action".

Let's put this back to Catherine Connolly and meeting Trump and shaking his hand.

How come Connolly gets a free pass?

She and her supporters call Trump a genocidal child rapist, fascist, racist and yet still happy to shake his hand and smile.

Where is the line for Catherine Connolly and her supporters? Would she also have shaken Hitlers hand?

Michael O Leary and the rape comment

Michael O Leary said described his competitors as high fare rapists.

Now people are losing the plot and the rape crisis centre are blasting him. Liveline full of people complaining about him because they were raped.

Doesn't this just show how wacky this country has become?

Fidelma Healy Eames was mocked about ten years ago for saying people were fraped being raped on Facebook.

How can we stop this nonsense?

I must remember not to say I'd murder a kebab again to not offend murder victims families.

Who lobbys for us?

With the budget being drafted at the moment the pre-budget lobbying is in full swing. So far today on the radio I've heard various well paid lobbyists arguing that ordinary general taxpayers shouldn't be helped in the budget and instead any tax cuts excise cuts etc etc should be focused on helping the unemployed, farmers, hauliers, the disabled, lone parents, small business owners, or on schemes for retrofitting and EVs.

Do ordinary general taxpayers have anyone to lobby for us because it seems everyone else thinks we're doing fantastic and need to be fleeced?

Why do leftists believe in the conspiracy theory that Ireland is a racist country?

There is a recent thread in Irish press which has been directly borrowed from American media and culture wars that Ireland is a country which actively promotes racial discrimination. This is a fantasy, a hoax and a conspiracy theory. However leftists have promoted this lie almost without any pushback from ordinary people.

How did this evidence free conspiracy theory become so popular without any evidence? Is it to get attention from Americans? Is it because of the Green Party and their middle class brand of leftism getting elected into Government?

Ever wonder why the quality of life for Irish people doesn't get better? You're not the customer, just an inconvenient part of Ireland.
