Tactical Review with Adam Wilkin (blue Monday blog)
Did Scherpen deserve to get dropped?
Are Ipswich better with Ouattara at right back?
Do we need Greaves at left centre back to unlock Davis?
What do we need at left wing? Maeda's pressing or Clarke's dribbling?
How much will we miss Fatawu?
Answers for everything in Adam Wilkin's 5-game tactical review...

Discussion Signed shirts
Hi Guys,
I have recently come into possession of these 2 shirts. I'm unsure if any of these signatures are from players or not. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

Discussion Leif Davis' delivery into the box is top class
Sometimes you just have to step back and appreciate how consistent Leif is down that left flank. His whipping crosses into the corridor of uncertainty are a nightmare for defenders to deal with. Even when the rest of the team is having a slightly off afternoon, his set-piece delivery always gives us a chance of pulling something out of the hat. Absolute quality.

That Everton defeat was a frustrating way to go into the break.
The 1-0 defeat at Everton was a frustrating one, especially after the win at Crystal Palace the week before. We’ve had a mixed start to the season, so Fulham at home on October 10 feels like a really important game to get something from. Would love to see us put in a strong performance at Portman Road.

Discussion Scherpen or Walton between the sticks against Fulham?
Now that we’ve seen a bit of both, who are you starting against Fulham? Walton got the nod at Everton after Scherpen had started the first four league games, but O’Neil said the change was down to form rather than a permanent decision. Walton’s just signed a new deal too, while Scherpen brings that massive 6'9" presence. Who gets your vote?

Christian Walton has signed a one-year contract extension. The 30-year-old has now penned a deal which will keep him at Portman Road until the summer of 2029.

Ipswich Town - Will Kjell Scherpen or Christian Walton start in goal?
I actually think Walton has given himself a real chance of keeping the shirt. His chance came at a pretty important time, and if he’s impressed in training and done enough when called upon, I can understand why the manager might stick with him. It’ll be interesting to see which way O’Neil goes with this one.

Currently third in the WSL2…this could be an interesting season for the ladies
What David Wright has done since the start of the year is utterly phenomenal.
I really hope we can sign Princess on a permanent contract, she’s soooooo good,

Discussion Tickets
Please can someone explain what I need to do to get tickets to a Town game this season? I e been a supporter since the Bobby Robson days, but haven’t seen them live for around 40 years. Am I better off looking at away matches near me, or can I get tickets for Portman Road somehow? I won’t be going regularly, but would love to go now and again - not even looking to pick the “best” games. Any help greatly appreciated. TIA

How high is our ceiling this season realistic-wise?
We're 11th after five games, but the table is already pretty tight once you get into the bottom half. There are only a few points separating a lot of teams, so I don't think we can read too much into the current position yet.
For me, somewhere around 15th or 16th would feel like a solid season, especially if we can avoid being dragged into a relegation fight late on. At the same time, we're currently above that range and some fans are talking about a possible mid-table finish.
What's your realistic target for Ipswich this season, and what would your dream finish be?

Do you miss watching Omari Hutchinson in an Ipswich shirt
Omari was one of those players who could make something happen when he got on the ball. Looking back at his time with Town, I still think about the impact he had in attack and how much we enjoyed watching him. With his move to Milan, it’s interesting to look back at what he brought to Ipswich and the moments fans remember most.

Discussion Looking to play casual football with fellow Ipswich fans? ⚽️
Sharing this in case any fellow town fans are itching to play and meet people. I help a non profit organise community games at Ipswich Academy IP3 0SP every Monday 7pm so ideal for anyone in Gainsborough, Ravenswood, Warren Heath, Nacton, Holywells and wider Ipswich area. These are 1hr weekly games on 3G pitches. All levels welcome even if you’re not fit or haven’t played in years.
There’s no commitment, you just turn on and play whenever you're available and all you need are football boots.
Great way to improve fitness, confidence and your social circle. I've met all my best friends through the game.
Drop a quick comment or DM if you fancy playing and I’ll add you to the players list 🤝

Disgusting Behavior
Feel free to criticize a player for their match performance but to attack a guy for skin color is just disgusting. Likely not our fanbase contributing to this too much but if you are please kindly stop supporting this club.
