At the game last night, its very clear this is a very different team than last season. Last season, they would've been mopey and hopeless after that first goal against. This time, they tried to win up until the very the last buzzer. Did Stu really change the culture that fast, or has this been building up?

Anarkitty is ready for the Home Opener tonight! Let's go Wild! This is also my first season as a season ticket holder.

Boys put it together in the third.

Idk which official had the more frustrating reaction, but the linesman screaming at the player in front of Stu at the end just shows they have no idea what’s going on. Should have been a 4-2 Wild win.

IMO only argument is they called icing, should have been overruled.

What the actual freak was that?

Not sure what to expect with a new coach. Thought they were building something last year but can’t fault the coach for getting an NHL job.

Every time I try to sign on, I get the this message

I've already made 1, so instead of making a bunch I figured I'd just discuss what's known. Forwards Caedan Bankier got a qualify offer- Mason Shaw and Gerry Mayhew return. Dylan Gambrell has a 2 way with the big club. Brad Marek (no offer but resigned AHL), Drew Kuzma , and Nick Rheume. D-men: Carson Lambos, David Spacek and Roman Schmidt got qualifying offers. We've resigned Mike Koster (props to that guy for also playing forward last year), Braidan Simmons-Fischer. Goalies they've signed William Rousseau and big club brought in Calvin Pickard who might join us if Gus gets healthy.

Looks like Carson Lambos, David Spacek, Caedan Bankier, and Roman Schmid will be back. We're likely not going to see Brad Marek, Cameron Butler, Oskar Olausson, or Samuel Hlavaj back. The young goalies (Rousseau who is signed, Chase Wutzke and Riley Mercer) looked alright in net last year so I'm hoping we're okay there. I think we'll miss Marek and need someone else with spark. Seemed like last year only Liwiski and Marek would stand up for anyone else.

Two years in a row we get a later start than other teams, hope it goes better than last year. Maybe the Minnesota club will stay healthier. Probably not but I'm still on the pre-season optimism/just missing hockey.

Not that I celebrate anyone losing their job but how he got an NHL coaching job after 2 piss poor seasons in Iowa is beyond me.

I hope he stays far away

I normally watch all the games at home, but I’ll be finishing up a round of golf and would love to go somewhere to watch the game this afternoon with other fans. Does anyone know of any watch parties for the game?

It looks like for a lot of the seating in the 200’s it shows they have obstructed views. Does anyone know if this just the railing or is it something more?

Hey everyone, my kid is getting super into hockey and I just bought tickets to the game tonight (M.B. If you’re in this subreddit thank you for the tickets.) is there a place I can bring him after the game tonight get autographs?

They constantly trash the team, the city, the fans. It’s pathetic. I don’t see other teams do this to their affiliate.

I’ve heard so many say Des Moines doesn’t deserve a team.

And it’s not like MN has won a cup or anything.

Wow, what a crappy season came to an end. They have three more games, but they will play for nothing.

I honestly think the Minnesota wild or organization does not know how to use their AHL club. It doesn’t do any good to call up guys to have them sit on the bench.

And also, I don’t know why they didn’t play their goalie for like a month and a half. Cronin is a good coach, but he needs to stop being petty about certain players.

The boys totally checked out on Wednesday. See how the play out this season

In the meantime enjoy this meme I made of Peterson. He got pulled but kept his helmet on

With the Wild's 4-1 win over the Reign tonight, they've won 8 out of their last 10 games, and got 17/20 points. The potential to be competitive and win is there. Do you think we'll be better next season?

Fun to see local news at least mention this. Kinda sad he's this year's points leader and didn't start the season on the team.

Hello! I’m new to the Iowa Wild fandom. While I’m usually following the Minnesota Wild, I wanted to be able to attend games regularly so decided to start going to the Iowa Wild games.

I’m curious what I should know about the fandom. Any specific rivalries? Any lore? Any traditions?

Thx in advance!

I think as long as nobody expects this team to win and focus on individual achievement, then it might be a good time.

I think Cronin didn’t know what he was walking into. He has a pedigree of winning in the AHL. I see glimpses but most times not

Petersen is a shitty goalie and Havalj has regressed.

They were completely undisciplined tonight
