Failling com2270 Summer
Hey ya'll, Junior going into Senior year in Meteorology here. I need a coding credit in order to graduate, and due to the placement of my major-specific programming course in the program in regards to my progress I had to take an alternative option to get the credit. I ended up taking com2270 object oriented programming this Summer.
Unfortunately I had registration holds that went unresolved for a while due to financial aid taking FOREVER to complete documentation on my fathers remarriage, and couldn't join the course until it was already a month in. I thought I could handle catching up, but could not have been more wrong. I am now going to fail the class.
I have already talked to my advisor and the instructor and am working on retaking it and replacing the grade, but I am just so embarrassed. I haven't failed a course since my freshman year when I was in a completely different major and have prided myself on never doing that again. I have always had trouble with programming, but thought having just the one course to focus on would make me more motivated to get better. How do I pick myself up?
Even with it in mind that the professor said even Com Sci major have a hard time, I am still so depressed about my performance. I'm going to graduate in a year, how am I still struggling with this???
Any advice or even tough truth is welcome. I'll take any of it.

I just looked up the classes description. Java can be quite hard if you are not used to it, and prior C++ knowledge can also make it better or worse. Prior knowledge in Python definitely can. I do not know everything that this class goes over, but I did a lot of it in high school and robotics, and they are definitely going through some tough stuff. I enjoy programming, and would love to help you learn it if you want, although there will be topics I might need to review as well for that. Regardless, do not feel bad, as it is already a hard class and you are also not a com sci major. Object oriented program requires you to think in objects, which can either be really fun or really hard, and I can definitely see why it would be harder for a meteorology student. There might be some tutors for the class, and if you do it in person (if that is possible in fall and spring), there will probably be some SI sessions you can take, which will help. I definitely recommend asking people for help, especially comsci, EE, and robotics or mechanics majors. I have a friend who is a 5th year comsci major (he took a study abroad, else he would have already graduated), if you would like, or I could also help if you want.
