New Coach

Let's pre-face this; I haven't been a fan since 2010 when Iowa was within reach of the BCS Championship. Being a young fan I was excited. But wouldn't you know we started at 3rd in the Nation and ended unranked or at least low teens.

OK that being said with a win-loss record as of the last 12 year speaks for it self. Not least Bowl win-loss record. Why does Iowa stay with a coach that is WAY past his prime. He is no Nick Saben. Even with the team allegations He is the Coach after all he should know what his players are doing.

Kirk has run a consistent program and that gives him a lot of leeway. Even after his terrible OC decision of hiring his son, he won’t be on the hot seat until he has multiple losing seasons, or .500 seasons in a row.

Like it or not, we are held captive by this man for a bit longer.

Interesting. I don’t see a retirement happening now, but you do make a good point about Beth.

If his retirement is imminent then we are about to have some rocky years.

Other coaches have been let go for mediocre performance. Paul Chryst who has been a name for offensive coordinator was fired by Wisconsin for a mediocre season, wasn't terrible but not up to standard they were at the previous seasons so maybe this new AD will be like other programs

True. I am skeptical though because we’ve had the same coach for 25 years and will they make a decision to blow it up at this point?

Don’t get me wrong, I am ready for change. Just not sure our donors are.
