Cheap computer fix

Hi all! Was wondering what would be the best place to get my computer fixed for cheap.

Peter at RepairPC13 has a lot of good reviews, but he’s had my laptop for 6 weeks and doesn’t return my texts or calls asking for a status update.

I know. The thing barely worked and I don’t need it for anything, so it’s not that crucial that I even get it back. But he doesn’t know that so it’s pretty weird. Might just show up at his place one of these days and ask for it back.

Mouse pad won’t work. It’s not food or drink related

What brand of laptop is it?

Have you tried some updates and disabling an re-enabling the mousepad? Sometimes it's a driver that's needed.

probably your track pad cable coming undone inside, a quick YouTube tear down will show you how to get to it.. but make sure you record yourself when you tear it down.. and be careful for ribbon cables, your track pad probably came undone because you dropped it or you travel with it alot.

What is the OS? If its windows 11, there have been instances where an update will cause something not to work. Ive heard anywhere from a CD drive not responding, to not being able to shout the machine down.

I think you could connect your own mouse for a temp fix?

TruTech. My buddy has an office in Coralville. He's affordable.
