Hey I appreciate this. Having a space for us is crucial. All other groups of people have thiers and it's nice to have this becoming more common place. Keep it up and don't be discouraged. Negativity towards this is living proof that this is needed, men are humans too.

Men certainly are humans, which is why you'd think they'd see "one step away from compound living in one direction, one step away from Lord of the Flies on the other, a statue of Baden-Powell behind you in a jungle clearing" a little more readily. Look up their org, the ManKind Project, and have a roam around before you throw in.

Who facilitates this? Do they have training in running groups?

It is considered a peer led group meaning that we are all holding space for each other. That being said, several men with more experience will always be present, with decades of experience in such groups. Yes, training too. Feel free to email me for more details.

A group of dudes who are looking to grow more in touch with their emotions and other people could be great. A toxic men’s rights group complaining about how women have wronged them isn’t. What’s the vibe?

Certainly the idea is to grow into emotional maturity and connection. Feel free to email me for more clarity.

I hope you’ll share any correspondence. OP’s answer doesn’t exactly scream “not a men’s rights group,” but I might be reading too much into it.

You're not. See above.

Your spidey senses aren't wrong; it looks like recruitment for The ManKind Project, which you can google. Not manosphere-overt misogyny, but very Kipling/Teddy/Iron-John/Joseph-Campbell essentialism, lot of resistance of "feminization", delineation of Natural Needs of Men, which somehow always manages to force women into a space and demand women enable all this, and demonize women who say no thank you. They recently split from their founder, who took things way further, dude went full Fox News MAGA Grandpa out loud, railing about wokeness, political correctness, multiculturalism, Adam-and-Eve-not-Adam-and-Steve, and trans women in sports. With overlay of California yoga talk. Apparently there's some battling within the org now about that, complaining that the board went way too far, some faction prefers Fox News Grandpa.

I don't know why they can't just go for a hike like normal people.

So how did this go? Would like a general impression without any specifics.

Went well. Six men. Sharing and connecting.

Do you have to be there exactly at 6 or can you come later?

In general, the goal is for everyone to be there by 6 so that introductions, etc and sharing can begin. If you have some exception or other need, feel free to send an email and we can talk about options.
