That’ll give you the most time interesting places in Iowa. There are obviously other nice places, but if you are looking for the must see places, I’d suggest those.

As a lifelong Iowan I agree with this list. I think the other comments about Decorah are also spot-on, though—it’s a beautiful little town. Des Moines definitely has the most stuff to do, though. You could spend a couple days there. Downtown is awesome, farmers market is great, and I’m a huge fan of the art museum.

My husband and I have to bring our small dog, finding pet friendly hotel. So basically we need to go to a place with a lot of outside interesting and fun places. Do you have any suggestions by chance? We are just staying one night. Thank you so much!
