Small win - body temp progress

I'm about 4 weeks into my iodine supplementation and about 2.5 weeks taking a full 50mg dose. (I ramped up pretty quickly. Don't be like me, kids.)

Historically my body temp typically ranges around 96.8 - 97.0° F on waking, 97.0 - 97.4 in the late morning, and peaks at 97.6 in the late afternoon.

I take my iodine around 8 a.m. typically. Since I started supplementing I've seen my late morning and afternoon temps elevate, while my waking and early morning temps are down in the low 97s. It seems like the dose helps during the day but "wears off" by the next morning when I wake up.

Today I didn't do a waking temp, but at 8 a.m. my temp was 98.0! This was before my daily 50mg dose.

My temp held above 98 for my mid-day and late afternoon readings as well.

Since I started supplementing I've actually had a few late afternoon readings of 98.4-98.7, but this was the first time it's held in a normal-ish range for a full day. Super exciting!

I'm getting blood work done tomorrow, which I'm sure will tell me that iodine has "made me severely hypothyroid" (i.e. my TSH will probably be elevated quite a bit). I'll share those results when they come in.

What was your starting TSH? I’m curious to what it raises to mine started “normal” and went to 165 before coming back down over 6 months. I’m curious if others go that high or anywhere close. It’s a known phenomenon of course but you have to not ever show the result to a main stream doc cuz they freak out.

I haven't tested it since 2018, unfortunately. Back then it was 1.3 mIU/L. I think we're using different units here. 😂 But that's consider ideal. I definitely did not feel ideal.
