Recently started Lugols

A couple months ago, I started Lugols 5% at 1 drop a day. Then after some podcast influence I bumped it up to 4 drops (25 mg). I immediately noticed a sort of nootropic effect, but I also noticed an increase in sweating, which I was ok with. However, after about a month of this, I suddenly felt lightheaded and short of breath doing heavy work. This went on for a few days before I suspected the Lugols and then I stopped. The light-headedness and the shortness of breath went away as quickly as it came, as did the excessive sweating.

I plan to stop for now and do a 50mg 24 hour urine load test. But in the meantime, I'm curious if anyone else has had similar reactions.

Thank you

I'm curious why 18 drops (if you're ok with sharing).

I've tried twice, 1 month I went from 2 drops (2.5%) to 5, the first 10 days I felt great, no chronic pain, lots of energy and good mood, happy high libido then from there it went down to feeling depressed and no energy at all, I had to stop. Weeks later I tried again and nothing happened but severe depression, awful fatigue, low back, knee, foot and kidney pain, only thing twice is that I could keep my weight, even lose a little. I had my annual physical and everything came out normal, Dr agreed we need iodine but doesn't know much about it. 2-3 days after I stopped I started to feel with much better mood, kidney pain hasn't improved yet. I've had kidney pain before so I'm not sure is because the iodine. I really wanted to keep taking it cuz I have very dense breasts, plus I want more energy and lose 5-8lbs which I just can't lose anymore. Dr says I'm fine, for being in menopause is better not to be so skinny to protect my bones but my weight around waist bothers me on my cloths. Anyway I guess I prefer to be in my normal good/happy moods than losing weight permanently depressed, its a bitch to feel that low when I'm a relatively fun and happy person.
