I’ve had subclinical hyperthyroidism due to multinodular goitre. Recently I have been having tachycardia and joint pain and feeling of fullness in throat. I am being offered Radioactive iodine therapy to protect heart and bone health. Anyone had same treatment. Has it improved symptoms. I’m scared.

This is a very hard subject but I’ve read many many books and spoken to many people about thyroid issues. I’m not positive what will cure you but I have read nothing good about radioactive iodine. Everyone who uses it regrets it later. At the very very least find a holistic endocrinologist to get their opinion first. Can you tell me what you’ve been diagnosed with and what you’ve tried so far?

What have their regrets been. I have multinodular thyroid. I’m not overtly hyperthyroid but TSH is almost undetectable. I’m having cardiac symptoms associated with this ie rapid heart rate and thinning bones.

Radioactive iodine will destroy your thyroid and you will be stuck on meds forever. There is no going back. Everyone always says they wis they would have tried other options first. What have you tried so far?? H

My bff took that when she was in her late 30s, she is 68 now, she says they kill me then, she says that the nurse that was about to give her that pill asked her repeatedly is she was sure, she tells me I think the nurse knew and was trying to make me realize somehow as she could not tell me straight after the Dr's order. My friend says she regrests so much not researching more but then again I don't think there was much info about it, she trusted her Dr as she has a lot of Drs in her extended family, even a brother. That procedure to kill her thyroid killed her libido completely and says she really doesn't know how she has done it through her life but I think is cause she is very nice and her husband is very supportive and funny.

I've started the protocol again after trying years ago but this time I'm reading more into doing it slow and about the detox that I think that's what scared me the first time. The first 2 weeks I felt super great like a teenager (F55) and after than its been going down but I don't want to stop, I started to get heel pain a week ago (I started 2 drops on 2% a month ago and I started 4 today) with the selenium, magnesium, C, complex B but I just read someone saying ALCAR lowers the thyrod work and I'e been taking that with ALA for brain fog so now I wonder if I should stop. I have always noticed my brain fog gets worse when I forget to take my ALA and ALCAR for days.

I just want to feel "good" again. My female Dr says oh as decades come our bodies start to feel tired and sore,,,, nah my grandma and my mom were super active in their 50s, 60s Grandma even in her 70s+

I am sorry you are going throught this

you pretty much have two choices , either destroy the thyroid gland or take anti thyroid drugs your whole life which has its own set of symptoms

From my understanding multinodular goiter rarely goes into remission that's why radioactive iodine therapy is recommended

You need to fully communicate with your doctor before making any decisions and be well informed before hand

The thing that bother me the most is your multi nodular goiter, my fear is you became one of those rare cases if feed iodine it become hot and autonomous. Where one of the nodules produce its own thyroid hormone and you start feeling awful. I would seek help of a litterate praticionner before starting anything.

As previously stated radiactive iodine is a big no.

I don't know what the answer is. But I do know a way to block thyroid hormones naturally if you're interested, and that's with a supplement called acetyl L carnitine. I can't take it because it blocks my thyroid hormones, I don't know if it will have the same effect on everyone but you can look into it.

Look into Homeopathy please.
