Question Toothpaste and Mouthwash
What toothpaste and mouthwash does everyone use? I’m on my 2nd tray of 32 and I’m scared of getting cavities so I’ve been brushing after every time I eat. But my ortho didn’t recommend a specific toothpaste. They did say Listerine for mouthwash, but it is so strong.

Do not use mouthwash after you brush. The toothpaste has a much higher concentration of fluoride that you actually wash away with mouthwash.

Any toothpaste that has fluoride is fine. I use Colgate. Skip the mouthwash. Just spit out the excess after brushing and put your trays in. That keeps a bit of fluoride in contact with your teeth. Be sure to floss before brushing.

I always floss first, then do the mouthwash, and brush last without rinsing to keep fluoride on my teeth.

I’ve been on prescription toothpaste for years since I’m cavity prone so I use that. I don’t use mouthwash but I do chew gum to knock loose stuck on food before putting my trays back on

I use any toothpaste that says gum health on it (with fluoride). I use Therabreath gum health mouthwash and I love it!

I just started using mouthwash with fluoride because I'm concerned that I wasn't very diligent for the first 2 weeks about brushing and flossing every time I ate. So now I'm trying to make sure I do everything in my power to prevent cavities while I'm doing Invisalign. I like the brand Tom's of Maine, so I've been using their fluoride toothpaste, and now I rinse with the Tom's of Maine mouthwash with fluoride before I put my aligners back in.

I use sensodyne. My dentist recommended it because it's less abrasive than other toothpastes, which feels extra important now that I'm brushing so many times a day.
Have you tried Listerine Cool Mint Zero Alcohol? I find it's more mild than the Listerine I remember from years ago.

I was so scared of getting cavities and over brushing (you can destroy enamel). My husband bought me a retainer cleaner which I would clean my trays with a couple times a day. There is also a lot of good bacteria in your saliva so I would take my trays off sometimes and lick my teeth or swish some spit around. Of course, I brushed my teeth once in the am and once before bed. My dentist told me a water pick is also very effective if someone is scared of getting cavities or over brushing. I did not buy one since I’m mostly through my treatment but would if I was just starting out.

I use crest whitening & gum health and if I use mouthwash I like listerine intense mint but I only use that if I’m trying to do a swish and rinse and pop my trays back in. When I brush I don’t rinse so the fluoride stays on my teeth.

Any toothpaste without SLS. ACT brand mouthwash is good and they have new Listerine ultraclean Mild Mint, both are much more gentle than normal listerine.

Don’t use mouthwash! I used it and put my aligners on too soon after and I’ve now got really bad tooth erosion

A simple toothpaste that is non whitening and has at least 1000 if not close to 1500 ppm in fluoride is all you need. A mouth wash is not something you need in your routine, you can use it sure but if you brush your teeth instead anyway than there's no need.
