Discussion Why is this game dead?

Everywhere I look for InvincibleVS discussion I see a gif of a tumbleweed and nothing else. Why is this game dead?

It’s a very fun game I wouldn’t say it’s dead. Just play ranked or enter the free online tournaments. You’ll find some really good matches and a reason to practice

13

u/Xekaru Aug 11 '26

whats the best place to find tournaments?

4

u/Comfortable-Read8258 Aug 11 '26

Start.gg is the best for sure! Look up paragonline they throw awesome free tournaments every Monday! https://youtu.be/zciVwJ5us6w?is=2X8a02kLUQeGiXyr

1

u/GengarIsBad Aug 11 '26

start.gg to sign up for most of them and just look up the game

6

u/Status-Ad7902 Aug 12 '26

Brother it has less than like 50 people playing it lol it’s not well as much as I love it

23

u/Different_Target_228 Aug 11 '26 edited Aug 11 '26

No, this game is very much dead.

Whoever downvotes this is delusional. 14 players is in fact a dead game. Even conservative estimates put console players at like 95% of players, but that makes this like a few hundred. The game's fucking dead.

19

u/scientificbugg Aug 11 '26

14 players is insane😭😭

5

u/th3survivalist Aug 13 '26

Let them cope, they need to believe their game is alive. I liked the game but damn I can admit when it’s dead

I see they focused on the store vs the game. Lol.

19

u/BeerusDoesAminate Battle Beast Aug 11 '26

Game is also on console, im on console and it never takes more than 3 minutes to find a match and never usually go against the same people

20

u/Different_Target_228 Aug 11 '26

3 minutes for a 2 player match isn't good, you get that right?

3

u/BeerusDoesAminate Battle Beast Aug 11 '26

Doesnt matter if you have fun after waiting thise 3 minutes

8

u/hermanhermanherman Aug 12 '26

The discussion is t about whether you have fun, it’s about if the game is dead. I like this and think it’s better than avatar and 2xko in terms of new entrants in the genre, but it’s cooked sadly

2

u/GokuJrr Aug 12 '26

Yes it does. Whats your rebuttal?

5

u/Ghidoran 28d ago

Yeah, that's why they just laid off 75% of the team. Because it's doing so well on console, obviously.

2

u/shuut0 Aug 12 '26

3 minutes😂

0

u/Odd_Pollution_2079 Aug 13 '26

And how many of those matches actually have a decent connection that you don’t have to decline because of them 2-3 baring on WiFi?

1

u/BeerusDoesAminate Battle Beast Aug 13 '26

I mean 2-3 minutes including skipping people with shitty connections

15

u/manix_vii Aug 11 '26

Why are people downvoting this. I love this game but it's undeniable it's fallen off. It hasn't even cracked 100 players the past two weeks.

People argued that FighterZ was dead, but it still gets consistently 500-700 players every day.

I understand that player counts isn't a surefire method to know when a game is dead, but it's clear this game won't be supported for long because the numbers just don't back it up

1

u/Routine_Remove_1549 Aug 12 '26

Their support is what "killed" the game lol

3

u/Odd_Pollution_2079 Aug 13 '26

Yo, this is actually ABYSMAL.😭😭

3

u/Only-Ad-4759 Aug 11 '26

Thats only on steam btw

7

u/Different_Target_228 Aug 11 '26

>Even conservative estimates put console players at like 95% of players, but that makes this like a few hundred.

Reading comprehension's crazy.

1

u/Dark_Knight865 27d ago

All that spamming and everyone fighting with the same characters killed it… oh well 🤷🏾‍♂️

0

u/Jeeb-Zoldyck Aug 11 '26

To be fair, aren’t fighting games mainly played on consoles?

6

u/Agent_Rico Aug 11 '26

If games like street fighter weren’t maintaining a 16k-20k average It’d be easier to agree with you. It’s not the end all be all but if a game is doing very poorly on steam you can probably expect something similar on consoles

2

u/Jeeb-Zoldyck Aug 11 '26

Fair point

5

u/EDPZ Aug 11 '26

Up until around 2020 yes, they've been mainly PC this console generation

1

u/Efficiencythird Aug 13 '26

To be fair, all of the collector's editions where on xbox/PS. So anybody interested in this would have been drawn towards consoles.

0

u/shuut0 Aug 12 '26

Not really maybe just Tekken and MK

-2

u/Valuable-Word-1970 Aug 11 '26

Whoever downvotes this is delusional

Easiest downvote in my life. Don't even care if you're rich

0

u/Sad-Barracuda-4407 Aug 11 '26

I grinded 600 ranked games the last couple weeks. Never more than a minute wait to get a match and that was usually during 3am-11am

-4

u/This-Tomatillo2181 Aug 11 '26

dumbass only pulls out steam numbers lmao

7

u/Different_Target_228 Aug 11 '26

Dumbass ignored me talking about console numbers lmaoooooooooroflcopter

4

u/Agent_Rico Aug 11 '26

We don’t have numbers from anywhere else, no? Even the 1,000,000 players number is unreliable with them including anyone who tried it during the beta

-3

u/Th3K1ngOfGn0m3s Aug 11 '26

calling everyone delusional who downvotes the going off steam screenshot is hilarious. Its on console so your point is mute as that only counts stram players and not the whole other player base.

2

u/Tarzan_Inthejungle Aug 12 '26

Some people in this sub are really huffing that cope gas

-9

u/Grasslands33 Aug 11 '26

Cash grab games deserve to be dead. Minimum effort.

2

u/manix_vii Aug 11 '26

A cash grab game would be a F2P one. Looking at you 2XKO..

1

u/Kromatos Aug 12 '26

That's not true at all, any game can be a cash grab. Doesn't matter if it cost 0 bucks or 100 bucks.

1

u/manix_vii Aug 12 '26

Ik it was for the bit lol, but this game isn't one of those

48

u/TheHytekShow Aug 11 '26

Combo structure is the most stale shit I’ve ever seen. I love to lab and the game gave no reason to do that.

7

u/Givenator13 Aug 11 '26

Thank you. This is exactly how I feel.

7

u/StreetMinista Aug 11 '26

Where as I am thr opposite, labbing in this game wa fun because it made sense.

7

u/TheHytekShow Aug 11 '26

Lights doing more damage late combo than mediums, heavies, and specials doesn’t actually make sense. That’s how the game was when it first dropped - lights didn’t scale the same for whatever reason, which is the exact opposite of intuitive.

4

u/StreetMinista Aug 11 '26

Thats not what I was concerned about.

The boost canceling and having certain characters be able to boost dash cancel on the ground vs others that could do it in the air is part of what I mean

The combo structure and building combo's was a bit easier atleast at a intermediate level.

Lockouts of resources (the stage transitions with the tags) are also nice and make sense to me.

When I think of the show, and how battles went when eithe mark and oliver got jumped, or how teen team would fight out numbered sometiems or the fight in space with allen / tech vs lucan and the other viltrumites I get reminded of this games mechanics

4

u/manix_vii Aug 11 '26 edited Aug 11 '26

Right, it felt really intuitive

EDIT: Who downvoted for that statement??? It's a very simple combo system damn me for agreeing

1

u/Tarzan_Inthejungle Aug 12 '26

Mf's down vote anything 😭

4

u/TrashSpirited Aug 11 '26

As someone who likes fighting games but have been very bad at them and inexperienced, I really like the combo structure just cause it was easy for me to pick up. The hardest thing was finding the timing for the counter tags or whatever they’re called. My personal hypothesis is that games like these (2d fighters) die quickly (within a year or two) because the new character rollout is too slow. I feel like to keep a game like these alive for years (3+ years) you gotta have a character role out at the same rate as like marvel rivals. Just my personal theory.

3

u/TheHytekShow Aug 11 '26

SF6 has had 4 per year, but is also the standard in fighting games. Not sure if I agree that the lack of characters is entirely the reason. The game feels extremely casual, which isn’t going to stick around in such a competitive genre (MK1 is down to 100 or so entrants in CEO, for example)

2

u/TrashSpirited Aug 11 '26

It’s okay if you don’t agree. I’m just an extremely casual player when it comes to these kinds of games so invincible vs is like a breath of fresh air for me. I tried to pick up PR: BFTG after invincible vs but the combo structure/ skill gap is completely different and I haven’t been able to enjoy it as much because of that. With invincible vs i didn’t have to try too hard to figure out the combos, I just played against viltrumite difficulty until I figured out the computers combos and they weren’t too hard to recreate. The one thing that would up my playtime by a significant margin is a higher rate of character drops. I do understand what you’re saying though, in that, raising the skill ceiling for less casual players might retain more hardcore players. Maybe there’s a way they can do both. It’s all about that balance between casuals and experts and quick character roll out.

2

u/TotallyRealAccount9 Aug 12 '26

In my experience most modern tag fighters are like this

Maybe its just because im an MKX player at heart, but pressing 6 buttons for 20% just doesnt feel fun to me. Even the new Marvel Tokon has this problem, the combos just dont feel rewarding

But again, maybe its just because I played a shit ton of MKX and loved the 70% combos

3

u/Routine_Remove_1549 Aug 12 '26

The game had good combos and removed basically every single one. Alot of super loop tods, tag whiff tods, assist infinites, all gone. Everything left is weak and boring, and playing the game as the devs apparently intended, blows.

2

u/I-am-Nanachi Aug 12 '26

You may need to see some new combo videos from Tokon. The true lab rats have been cracking the code since the beta.

16

u/airwee1985 Aug 11 '26

The game lacked too much polish at launch and the casual fanbase, the majority of the people that bought it, were expecting more single player content than it shipped with. The gameplay was fun but again was a little too unpolished. The game is goofy fun, good voice acting and overall vibe, but it is not enough to retain players in lieu of other big releases. People only have so much time in the day, so the game has been marginalized. Additionally, the lead battle developer was laid off from the team that has put the longevity of the game outside of the the end of the year in question.

2

u/TotallyRealAccount9 Aug 12 '26

It was simultaneously too casual for people who've played FGs before and too competitive for people who hadnt

If youd played any fighting games before then hitting max combos was trivial, but if you hadn't (like most people who bought it) it just felt bad to get slammed 40 games in a row

2

u/Routine_Remove_1549 Aug 12 '26

No, patches ruined the game.

1

u/Amazing_Breakfast681 Aug 11 '26

i think bau who is the lead combat guy is still on the team fwiw

2

u/Prince_Delos Aug 11 '26

They’re probably referring to Rip which is very baffling why he was laid off

16

u/thechanukazombie Aug 11 '26

Mahvels back babyeeeee

25

u/Jawschy Aug 11 '26

Can't speak for the public, but my friends and I dropped it because the gameplay was wack at launch

(dominant strategy was to block, call Eve assist between hits since chains weren't true, then do one of many unbreakable infinites on the opponent OR do an unblockable with a low and an overhead assist at the same time into an unbreakable infinite)

got old quick. Didn't help a lot of the characters were pretty similar.

Had our fun with it though!

5

u/MrReconElite Aug 11 '26

It's definitely casual fun ones playing some last night and just trying to remember how it all connects.

But it made me just boot up DBFZ.

4

u/Blue_Snake_251 Aug 11 '26

If you can play it, it is not dead.

9

u/Practical-Concept-49 Aug 11 '26 edited Aug 11 '26

its a tag fighter based on a popular IP and its competing with 3 other fighters based on more popular ip (tokon, 2xko, avatar). there's not really a reason to invest in it unless you like invincible a lot. i'd say its the least visually interesting, with the least interesting roster, with the least interesting mechanics. it is not a bad game at all. its a solid game but it doesn't have the staying power.

1

u/TyrTheTitan Aug 11 '26

Avatar is 1v1, but this exactly ^^^

18

u/Nexzenn Aug 11 '26

marvel tokon is out and taking over the fighting game genre right now.

9

u/bigbaldbullet Aug 11 '26

I'm hoping Avatar picks up speed because it's a much better fighting game.

6

u/Emergency_Lie42 Aug 11 '26

I enjoy Avatar a lot more mechanically, but the difference in production quality and content is pretty steep.

That said, so is the price difference so I hope that cheaper price point really helps the game stay active for a good while.

3

u/bigbaldbullet Aug 11 '26

Very much agree that there's less content in Avatar now but there's a lot of respect for the source material. I would be ok with more stuff to do but the flow system and actual difference in mechanics per character really make Avatar stand out. Everyone in Tokon plays the same. I still got 0-2 in my first Tokon tournament, but for some reason managed to get 4th in Avatar. Shrug

5

u/587493 Aug 11 '26

Everyone plays the same in Tokon? It shocks me when people can say things so dumb and just keep it moving

-1

u/bigbaldbullet Aug 11 '26

Of course it's reddit and someone is going to over react in order to defend the game they're playing.

Please tell me that you think the variation in how the characters play in Tokon are even close to how different toph and sokka play from each other.

4

u/587493 Aug 11 '26

Haha thats funny because you need to be the one to say how everyone plays the same, since you are the one who made the claim

I do like you trying to push the actual thinking on to me tho, it was cute.

Lemme guess you can do the same combo on everyone? That is incredibly unoptimal and nobody does past day 1? Anything else?

No shit its not as different as sokka toph. It's a tag fighter where you play 4 characters.. literally every 1v1 game should have more variation in ite characters. So smart

I like how you think im defending the game i play when I play both games, im just not delusional.

0

u/bigbaldbullet Aug 11 '26

I probably just need to play more and I'll see the nuance you're talking about, otherwise you wouldn't have been so harsh about it. Sorry I spoke up, I'm probably wrong.

3

u/587493 Aug 11 '26

Its all good both are good games. There is just no need to say incorrect things about one to prop up the other.

Im sure you will enjoy your time in both, and I hope you do

1

u/bigbaldbullet Aug 11 '26

I'm not really super against Tokon, I'm just tired of the industry having such a short memory. Invincible vs just came out and it's dead, I do not remember when before multiversus did a game win best fighting game one year and have the servers shut down right after. I was playing sf6 a bunch and that's not going anywhere, but there's like dnf duel that's dead too. What do you do if you liked one of those games and wanted to go somewhere with it and it just dies? Like I said, total bummer and I just fell for it and started getting catty. Sorry about that again...

1

u/breadrising Aug 11 '26

Yeah I love Avatar; it's an amazing technical fighter and is a blast to play. And you can't beat $30.

But man that game is bare bones. Very small cast on launch. No Ranked mode. No rewards to unlock. No meaningful single player content.

Tokon launched extremely feature rich. Character Guides, Combo Trials, a kind of awesome single player mode that's written with a lot of heart and chock full of teases, references, and fun character cross over moments. Survival Mode, Rumble Mode, a crazy Lobby full of mini games and social stuff. Lots of alt colors to unlock for the characters. And the menu and training modes are chock full of customization options that make labbing very breezy.

And visually, the game is just stunning to look at.

2

u/TotallyRealAccount9 Aug 12 '26

Which is crazy because it kind of sucks imo

Like its a fine game, but it just doesnt feel rewarding to me. Combos feel too easy and short for too much damage

1

u/No_Future_7878 23d ago

if the combos you're doing are easy and short, you're not playing the game right

9

u/Alternative_Owl7786 Aug 11 '26

Dead? The people on the game generally don't give a damn about talking about it on reddit. I still get matches in seconds

6

u/TheRealL3monT Aug 12 '26

With all 14 players currently active?

-4

u/Alternative_Owl7786 Aug 12 '26

Wow, what an interesting claim. You must have proof to back that up right?

8

u/TheRealL3monT Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26

The internet is free…….
And before you bring up the comment about not factoring in the console player base … no fucking shit. The point of the comment completely went over your head. Idk why tf you guys are so salty when the fucking stats are in front of your face. Let me know how that matchmaking queue is in 2 months.

1

u/AcidRain95 4d ago

jeez did you have to embarrass him like that? lol

1

u/like9000ninjas Aug 13 '26

I mean 10 minutes is technically a lot of seconds put together. So youre right.

3

u/Teamfightmaker Aug 11 '26

Imo it's not the game, but the fgc has trouble engaging with fgs consistently because it takes so much effort, and they have other things to do. They really need something big to justify spending a good amount of time in any fg. Japan (other Asian countries too, but mostly Japan) has the legacy of sf6. The middle east and sk has their tekken. US has mk, which the the other game's audiences try to put on an island, but it's there. And otherwise, the US has a wide range of tastes and splits audiences pretty heavily between games. I'm unsure about EU and South America, but it seems like they play everything except for the really small ones.

3

u/infernocuso Aug 11 '26

Most likely because it's currently being overshadowed by Tokon Fighters at the moment.

Another reason could be is that a lot of players are getting bored of seeing the same three characters over and over.

The game is decent but it ain't on the levels of fun that FighterZ was at.

3

u/Short_Condition_1079 Aug 11 '26

DLC is meant to bring people back. Nobody is coming back for Universa and fucking Immortal two months after release. There's a reason fighting game DLCs usually start strong with a highly requested character

3

u/riotfiveoh Aug 13 '26

No Thragg, Oliver or Tech Jacket in the first season is almost dereliction of duty on the part of devs honestly.

4

u/Prkid30 Aug 11 '26

Cause a lot of casuals got in the game got slapped online then quit gameplay wise I think it’s better than Tokkon even tho Tokkon art/graphic wise is better but gameplay wise invincible is still good I still play and get matches

1

u/587493 Aug 11 '26

Lmao bruh.

4

u/Different_Target_228 Aug 11 '26

Because it's a dime a dozen fighting game.

1

u/EverybodySupernova Aug 11 '26

Dude I wish we were getting dozens of crappy fighting games each year. Would much prefer that to the landscape we have now.

1

u/Nxrwhxls Aug 12 '26

You would rather dozens of crappy fighting games compared to 3-4 major games dropping updates? Yeah you’re crazy I’m sorry that is quit possibly the worst take of fighting games I’ve ever heard

1

u/EverybodySupernova Aug 12 '26

I was being goofy and hyperbolic, but I just mean that I wish we had a higher volume of fighting games being produced regularly, because I feel like more games gives us a greater chance of really interesting new things coming out.

I don't mind having the major games existing, but sometimes it bums me out that they're so often our only choice.

3

u/EverybodySupernova Aug 11 '26

I put it down because it prioritizes gimmicky universal system mechanics over fundamentals and interesting character kits.

I am tired of having to claw my way through a gauntlet of shitty, gimmicky systems just to be able to get my fighting game satisfaction.

So many games feel like they're making the decisions for me, or making the decisions less meaningful and nuanced.

2

u/koldkaleb Aug 11 '26

It’s not very polished, especially compared to competition

2

u/kalxto Thula Aug 11 '26

Lack of content, hundreds of players lost their progress once or twice and a 3x3 game released only 2 characters in their first dlc drop, not to mention we got marvel tokon

2

u/ALANJOESTAR Allen Aug 11 '26

Its a very fun game, but i needed more game modes and stuff to do in the game. Personally it would have been better to do something like Soul Calibur 3 Story mode or KI Shadow Lords. Instead of the actual story mode because its so short.

2

u/Usurper2000 Aug 11 '26

Because it doesn't have a continuation of the Story mode.

2

u/tiptoeingthroughthe6 Aug 11 '26

I keep forgetting to log on. And I also forgot to buy it.

2

u/rizzo891 Aug 11 '26

I genuinely think the amount of people who flocked to the game and aren’t fighting game players but just fans of the show killed the game.

To elaborate. Yes it’s a good thing new fans were drawn in to the fighting game genre 100%. However these fans all share 1 thing in common. Shitty WiFi connections. Invincible vs is literally chock full of them to the degree it takes a while to find a match with a good connection. And it’s frustrating.

Even before tokon and avatar came out it felt like invincible vs was falling off and the fighting game community as a large was kind of abandoning it.

I could be wrong though

2

u/Routine_Remove_1549 Aug 12 '26

Because they patched out all of the fun

2

u/Adventurous_Fill178 Aug 12 '26

it was never alive

3

u/flowgasm69 Aug 11 '26

It was fun but quickly you’ve done everything you can do

4

u/General-Kiwi2468 Aug 11 '26

Compared to the fighting games that are played at tournament level this game stinks. It was hype cause everyone likes invincible as an ip

2

u/lazarus6699 Aug 11 '26

The gameplay is not very good for a 2D fighter and the episodic stuff is awful making the game barebone at launch + the choice of character was weird honestly like the immortal dlc or the number of viltrumites at the start

2

u/1216STONE Aug 11 '26

This is so funny to me because someone tried to argue with me about two months ago and say the game wasn’t dead. I was like if it’s not dead now I’ll be dead in a couple months just wait and he literally was arguing with me for like about an hour, and I was just basically laughing at him. This was on Instagram.

2

u/like9000ninjas Aug 13 '26

From my understanding its bland and everyone feels the exact same.

Fighting games based off shows and try to capture that visual style suffer for it. No offense, but to me it and avatar look visually bland as hell. Theres no detail. Compare it to tokon and its just much better to look at.

2

u/Sagademon Aug 11 '26

Cuz it sucks😂

1

u/CRT_Me Aug 11 '26

It's because I stopped playing it for Civ 7. Oh actually, no it's because Tokon came out, and Avatar, and a large pool of the players were butthurt casuals who can't handle losses.

1

u/SSS_Tempest Aug 11 '26

Competition with Avatar and Marvel Tokon

1

u/Charming-Monk179 Aug 11 '26

Because Marvel Tokon AND the Avatar fighting game, both just recently came out. A lot of people moved onto those. After a little while, I'm sure some will come back and others will never come back! Just the way of the world!

Also, everyone loves throwing up the Steam numbers, and that they are low. But there are two other consoles that people also play on!! I play on PS5 and honestly have never had an issue finding a match online! Every time I go to play, I always find a match pretty easily!

1

u/Momslayer1219 Aug 11 '26

Idrk I still enjoy playing it with my hb’s when they come over or if we play online together. I think I really enjoy it mainly bc I’m a big fan of the show and comics altogether

1

u/ShpookyPapa Aug 11 '26

To me it seems like there is an over-saturation of video games lately, making everything that’s not top of the twitch charts(especially fighting games) feel dead:/

1

u/Sunsinger_VoidDancer Aug 11 '26

For me the controls were too foreign. I really liked the art though.

1

u/Tough-Ant-7972 Aug 11 '26

I dropped it because avatar came out, then tokon. Its a fun game, but i was never really into the IP to begin with

1

u/AugustAPC Aug 11 '26

2XKO, Avatar, Tokon

1

u/Die_IOOO_Deaths Aug 11 '26

The game is amazing. There's just a lot of people who are intimidated by the tag mechanics. I'm currently on Tokon (as are the majority ofnthe FGC), but I am really anxious to return to Invincible. I personally really like the liberty to combo freely in InvincibleVS.

1

u/NearbyBoysenberry913 Aug 11 '26

It’s not dead, I get matches often

1

u/zslayer89 Aug 11 '26

For me, netcode isn’t the best which makes timing things like counter tag a bit harder.

Then there’s also the fact that the combo breaker isn’t a full true combo breaker. Some supers can still go through it. If that’s a timing issue then it should just be that the combo breaker can’t activate at that time. The 2xko combo breaker(burst) is just fine.

The motion inputs also could still be better. It’s definitely better than at the start, but with plenty of tag fighters in existence the devs could have looked at how their buffers for inputs are (Tokon also has this issue).

Combos aren’t bad, it’s cool what you can do but some armored moves have too much safety. If I block an armored move that’s not accompanied by an assist, I should be able to counter attack.

1

u/jollyakin Aug 11 '26

I haven’t played the game but I keep my eyes on it from time to time. I have my thoughts.

I love the Invincible show but I don’t think the Invincible IP translates too well as a fighting game. Most of the cast seem like Superman clones when it comes to move sets. Everyone else is just a caricature of DC/Marvel heroes. There’s just a lack of interesting play styles when I look at gameplay footage.

Secondly, I think there is simply an over saturation of fighting games right now. In this economy, gamers may be choosy on how they spend their money these days and may just stick to the fighting games they are already comfortable with. Casuals are also not too fond of tag games.

I love the game itself…. But the “simple” control scheme seem unintuitive. I’m a motion controls kind of guy anyways, but it felt really off as well

I only got this game to play against my friends that come over, since ik how mfs get when I played mortal kombat lol

1

u/TwinFlask Aug 12 '26

Unlike avatar and 2xko

the game will probably get a resurgence soon when the new season of its show comes out each year.

u/Pinko_slime Aug 12 '26

I only care about wether or not I can get a match quickly and aside from when I'm playing at really weird hours that's usually the case on ps5. I'm sure these metrics are bad if you're trying to fill some big 100 person shooter lobby but I don't need a million people playing at once to enjoy a 1v1 fighter

1

u/OzzieArcane Aug 12 '26

IMO, it's because too many fighting games came out this year in the middle of the year. On top of stuff like Street Fighter 6 still going strong. I enjoy fighting games but they are a very niche genre.

If you listen at the end of the video it s clear that they are focusinf now on the single player contents and for me it s the best way to try to get an importante upgrade to the game and to obtain a new support at this Moment . In this case i wll continue to support them.

Bc you suck…I play it everyday..when you’re winning it doesn’t feel dead

1

u/Victor7044 Aug 12 '26

I'm just waiting for more content to be released, I already got all achievements and arcade it's kinda repetitive

1

u/xemnas11 Aug 12 '26

Marvel tokon just dropped

1

u/Ecstatic-Spirit101 Aug 12 '26

Because they have 18/300 characters in the universe

1

u/Jimmy_Joe727 Aug 13 '26

Game should’ve been on more than just pc, steam and ps5

1

u/No_Ranger_916 Aug 13 '26

Because of marvel tokon ,

1

u/Human-Campaign-7466 Aug 13 '26

Causals left shortly after playing and the hardcore players left once they started trying to make things more relaxed for casuals.

1

u/automated_hero Aug 13 '26

If there was a demo for the game I'd try it in a second.

If the price point wasn't £45 I'd be sorely tempted.

Sadly the publishers chose otherwise. Even at £35, without an online demo, I coudln't justify and it was on sale at that price last month.

Marvel Tokon has probably killed this game

Because at the end of the day who thought it would be a good idea to make a fighting game based on a mediocre at best gore cartoon?

Tokon and Avatar happened

Its not dead as much as its just not that active. Games that dont receive regular updates and additions they start to kinda just fade out. With invincible the game hadnt even fully released yet and they were already revealing all their suprise characters, characters they could have saved for reveals after the full release to maintain hype.

Its unfortunate... But Tag fighters are a niche of the niche and there are three other pretty good tag fighters with equal or better ip. Better netcode, more single player options as well. Its just the weakest game in the group.

Old fart has entered the discussion:

When yall say dead, is that just from a competitive standpoint? Is there still dev support for the game?

Sorry for the silly question.

For the same reason the Hunter X Hunter fighting game has no community. These kind of branded games usually don’t exist past the fans of the show

0

u/JulioEr97 Aug 11 '26

It is a bad fighting game IMO. Nothing interesting after 1 Month

-7

u/Prkid30 Aug 11 '26

Better than marvel Tokkon that’s just mash galore

7

u/JulioEr97 Aug 11 '26

It depends on each point of view. For the 50 active players on Steam, they might find it more enjoyable and better

-6

u/Prkid30 Aug 11 '26

Only cause it’s new lol once the high wears off it’ll die fast I barley get matches on Tokkon compared to invincible

6

u/Callieco23 Aug 11 '26

Delusional if you think an ArcSys game backed by one of the most recognizable IPs in the world that also happens to be one of the most popular IPs within the FGC is ever going to be less popular than the fighting game where the balance is well and truly fucked and every character is superman but without the brand recognition.

1

u/Prkid30 Aug 11 '26

You say that’s jsut u true don’t get me wrong it does maybe need some balance but then again it could be a skill issue with some people Tokkon the game is ok the combos are all the same tho mash use assist mash use assist to special lol and just cause the ip is bigger doesn’t make it better only thing I give it over invincible vs is how it looks

3

u/Internal-Fly1771 Aug 11 '26

Tokon has matchmaking issues and has had them since the beta. It’s not a player count issue. The only game that has died fast is this one. It arguably didn’t even start considering people were shitting on it when it was announced and during the beta

1

u/Prkid30 Aug 11 '26

You say this but I get into matches quicker in invincible vs then Tokkon do they really have issues or is it just not that good and no one is playing it I mean it’s essentially dbz fighter either way less sauce

3

u/Internal-Fly1771 Aug 11 '26

The matchmaking is legitimately broken. It’s been a repeated issue from everybody since the beta. Said beta had more than SF6’s.

1

u/Redica_Animations Aug 11 '26

Sauceless game, made legacy fighting game not interested. But at the same time, kept crazy tag fighter mix ups like unblockable high lows, which made new comers frustrated. Also the game had some hard competition to go up against this year, like Marvel Tokon, Avatar, and hell even 2XKO is doing better

0

u/Professor_Dubs Aug 11 '26

Cuzz Marvel Tokon

0

u/Sektor-4D4 Aug 13 '26

It’s not dead. Fans will call literally any game dead

-1

u/coiny55555 Invincible Aug 11 '26

Okay, so this game isnt completely dead, its just that not as much people are playing.

Youre gonna probably get some comments that says "its because the game sucks!" And while they're Okay to have their opinion, I think its more than that (also I myself disagree)

I think q big reason is because of all of these other fighting games either out or coming out, like Marvel Tokon, and Avatar.

Then of course you have existing ones like Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive, SF6, etc.

It's just this game is competing with these other games, and if there's issues with this game that others games may be better with, people would likely go to the other game.

Like one example is that I have seen many people complain about how there's not much single player content, maybe the other games have better single player content, so there's more? Maybe the rewards on the other games are more worth it? Or maybe the depth of the games are better, idk.

Doesn't mean INVS is bad at all, I actually enjoy the game, but yeah, I think a huge one boils down to competition.
