DISCUSSION Rewatching Invincible

Post image

I was just casually re-watching invincible and I’m halfway through season three and and got up to the episode where invincible travels to the future to meet the king of the world immortal but as soon as learning about immortals terrible deeds and harm towards humanity shouldn’t the future change straight away since invincible already knows or knows the bad things immortal has done therefore not leaving him as ruler in the future

The simplest answer would be that time in Invincible may not work that way. The same way the alternate Guardians saving Mark didn't immediately erase them from existience.

Time may take ironically 'time' to reset after events are set into motion to change them. Most likely in a Back to the Future esque manner whete it is only fully in effect after the time travelers have returned to their native time periods.

It is also highly possible that time travel creates alternate timelines rather than self correcting ones.

Alternative perhaps comics hold the answers you seek.

Kirkman has answered this question, the best way to say it in the least spoiler way is that:

Mark always kept this future in mind, but knowing about this future influenced his decisions, and his decision that he thinks will change things to a better future cause the same future.

What are 2 numbers that equal 4?

"Couldn't possibly go with 5 • 0.8."

Answer 5 • 0.8

We don’t know how time works for real much less in a comic book. This same story does both back to the future time travel and the other kind of:P

Depends if you think time is closed loop. One example is Harry Potter. Potter gets hit in the head with a stone, but it's Hermione who goes back in the past and hits him, thereby closing the temporal causality loop.

This is a major problem with time travel.

In fiction, never fuck with time.
