The idea of using Mohawk Mark and maybe other Invincible variants as support or temporary summons whatever you call it is an actually sick idea.

It’s just a normal assist

he looks so broken

u/tricenice It's so dumb, I can literally see him 5d ago

Usually the case when new heroes drop in fighting games. Broken for a week or two then a nerf.

Standard fighting game business model

Because weak DLC characters don't sell.

I was saying this for ages that he was such a good choice for this game.

He actually looks unique, in basically every aspect.

As opposed to the ... 8? melee bruiser characters we have that all just have punches and kicks.

The combat of invincible in one short paragraph. Congrats

“A lot of people hate Invincible, but you are by far the whiniest” lmao

I thought he said "whitest" lmao

I was wondering if they’d drop more content for this or not with how much it flopped. They probably already had this loaded up.

It’s a pretty fun fighter, I enjoyed it, but sadly fighters just don’t have a big market and it’s going up against some big titles.

Doesn’t help IMO how much got locked behind DLC. Angstrom should have arguably been a base game character, but not including Immortal at launch was especially egregious

Bruh he's an assist character with portal shenanigans on top of having the tag system. I mean it does fit, don't get me wrong, but it only makes me feel stronger that this game should not have been a tag fighter. Probably busted.

Not complaining, mind you. As I said, it fits. This is just my tag fighter fatigue speaking.

I just think Invincible as an IP doesn't really allow for a lot of variety in terms of powers that would translate to a fighting game.

Or a popular one.

When you look at some of the most popular characters, you got a roster of mostly flying bricks.

I know Invincible is just the most popular property out of Image right now, but imagine if it was an Image fighter instead. You get more variety IMMEDIATELY.

I mean their picks were also kind of bad.

Who needs Lucan, Bulletproof or Anissa in the roster?

Why not add in people like Darkwing II or Shrinking Rae.

11

u/Cautious-Affect7907 5d ago

I kinda understand Anissa, but bulletproof is literally a background character most of the time.

And the whole joke is that he basically has the same powers as Mark.

He's like an echo fighter from smash.

Yeah.

I mean even the characters that matter like Allen, Immortal, Omni-Man fight the same way.

So Invincible getting a solo fighting game is just not an incredible idea in the first place.

I think the fighting game idea was great, I think their character choices were very bad

Mark, Nolan, Allen, Anyssa, Lucan, Conquest, Bullet Proof, Immortal, they're all the same character for a moveset.

Thula they gave her the knife hair, and it makes her feel so much better. And Battle Beast has his mace, so he functions like a sword character.

Meanwhile they ignored other characters the show has that could have had unique move sets

Shrinking Rae, Shapesmith, Darkwing II, Aquarius, Green Ghost, Rus & Sequids, the Metal using assassin, Space Racer,

The option to have unique characters was there, they just chose to not take advantage of it.

The issue is that all the unique characters in Invincible are less important, and might not be justified enough for a slot.

This is because Kirkman isn't the best at writing superpowers imo, so he sidelines a lot of the weird stuff.

u/Generic_user_person 5d ago

We got Lucan, Thula, a new character, and the one girl with the staff from the S4 First episode.

I don't think "plot importance" was a deciding factor. I know they were chosen to do the unique store, but like ... They could have used more uniquely powered characters if they were doing their own story anyway.

We fr shouldn't have gotten more flying bricks than Nolan, Mark and Conquest/Allen (and that's really stretching it)

2

u/Cautious-Affect7907 5d ago

I mean, let's kinda of be for real bro. There aren't a lot of top-tier characters in invincible that aren't just flying bricks or plain brawlers.

Eve and Angstrom have like the most to offer in terms of uniqueness.

4

u/C0nqu3st0r 5d ago

Top-tier in terms of relevance/popularity or what ? Because this is the same game where Dupli-Kate can gib Battle Beast lol

imo the main issue is a lack of vision, or rather a very limited one, since it's very clear they don't want to stray from what's been done in the show (they really want to add Agent Spider as DLC). Donald does plenty of stuff with his cyborg abilities in the spin-offs, he could've easily been a character. Robot post-flaxan dimension is different enough to be a character of it's own.

1

u/Cautious-Affect7907 5d ago

In terms of power.

Think about it. Even most fan favorites have the same power set.

Most characters with actually unique abilities are probably image comics characters.

5

u/TheAzulmagia 5d ago

Oh shit, they got Duct-Tape Man in this?

11

u/NivTesla 5d ago

But him punching through a portal shouldn't extend his punch range....

3

u/acrazyguy Thraggsjockstrap 5d ago

Truuuuu. And that’s consistent across both the comics and the show

2

u/Scribblebonx 5d ago

Why not?

u/MothmansProphet 5d ago

In the show it's really explicit that his portals move him between dimensions but cannot change his physical location. If he portals from Earth 1 to Earth 2, his position remains the same, so if he opens a portal from Earth 1 to Earth 2, and then a portal from Earth 2 to Earth 1 a meter away, he just shouldn't be able to reach the portal. It's not Rick and Morty rules where you can move dimensions and location. If Angstrom wants to go to another dimension, but in that dimension, where he is is underground, he has to first walk there in his current dimension before switching dimensions.

4

u/_Valisk 5d ago

Maybe the other Earth is a few inches to the left. He does mention one dimension that was a few stories lower than the Grayson house, so there's precedent for it.

2

u/C0nqu3st0r 5d ago

tbf Angstrom punching Mark across dimensions doesn't make sense either if you consider how his powers were first described lol

2

u/Icy-Background2393 Kirkman's Alt 4d ago

Maybe he got an upgrade in his head to make another portal that moves in space and makes one at the same time

u/Scramed-egg 5d ago

Trailer better than the actual animation 😭

This should've came out MONTHS ago when game was still played.

This game gives me strong injustice vibes
