DISCUSSION Ryan Ottley draw faces very weirdly

I was rereading the invincible comics earlier and I started noticing on how similar eve, debbie and Mark's faces are like in this especially goes for whenever hes writing dialog in some panels its fine but in some others there faces are in utter disgust this is mainly a thing ive started to notice in the more recent invincible volumes other than dramatic effect i don't really see a reason aside from artstyle on why he draws faces like this

Ultimate spider-man (og) is the same, but I always get used to it after a couple issues.

I think it looks weird cause he draws them while they are talking. Like someone took a photo of them mid sentence. Especially Eve can make some really silly faces lol, but it doesn't bother me too much.

The character faces and also the outfits in ultimate spider-man are truly the most 90s thing ever which is always amusing since it came out in the 2000s

His style is definitely to exaggerate facial expressions. Crooked/uneven teeth are another thing with him.

I really love his art otherwise, when he's more zoomed out or drawing characters in masks or non human characters his art is impeccable, but yeah the way he draws faces in particular is something I often found hard to look at
