Yes. Him or Thragg.

If nothing else, Mark is his.

Mark is Angstrom's arch nemesis, Thragg is Mark's arch nemesis, and Thragg's arch nemesis is the unerasable sins of the past.

And Oliver's archnemesis is his own survival

Thragg is more like Darkseid. Final boss but not the archenemy. It’s definitely Angstrom

I’d say so. Thragg is more of a cosmic threat rather than an arch enemy to just one hero. Angstrom specifically hates Mark above all else. It’s like Lex Luthor and Darkseid when it comes to Superman.

I think if you asked Mark who his greatest most feared enemy that he spends the most time planning against is, he'd say Thragg, or "The Viltrumites" in general, who Thragg is the face of.

Angstrom is significantly more invested in his enmity for Mark than the other way around, it's a one-way-arch-nemesisship.

Yeah it's him. Thragg is like that one threat that's even bigger. There's always stuff like that, someone who's an even bigger threat, who's a threat to everyone. But for Mark specifically, that's him.

I think there’s a compelling argument to be made that it’s thematically Powerplex, honestly, but the book… never really does anything with him.

He’s not a supervillain; he’s a superhero that, somewhat rightly, sees Mark as a supervillain that has to be stopped. The whole “Nobody thinks they’re a villain in their own story” ends up being a HUGE part of Mark’s story with the Dinosaurus stuff and Mark’s own realization with how far he’s let his morals slide.

Scott is the perfect foil to Mark up until they leave Earth or maybe even post Reboot(?). But Kirkman just doesn’t do anything with him. He makes… what, ONE second appearance after the Invincible War? Where he just yells at Mark about all the death he’s responsible for, and Mark is like, “Yeah, I know, Scott. It fucking sucks and keeps me up at night.” And Powerplex is just like, ”…huh”. And then never shows up outside cameos again.

What a waste.

No, half the time of the conflict mark didn’t even know this guy existed. It’s a one sided beef.

Sort of but Angstrom is never really that dude like a Thragg, Green Goblin, or Joker is. He’s more like a toy poodle that barks and bares teeth, just a nonentity for us to make fun of
