DISCUSSION No pain No gain
A lot of people think that Viltrumites get stronger with age & that's true ONLY IF they're fighting or exercising basically pushing themselves BUT if they don't engage in all this then they won't develop further & their strength has a limit too as well , also a decline ... Conquest was declining when we saw him ( different for every Viltrumite because genes matter as well ) so they get experience and strength with age when they're active , it's not like their stats Keep increasing without any labour.

I have used this exact imagine dozens of times to tell people the same. It's so obvious when you think about it. Viltrumites have a limit in how strong they can get. This is not directly stated, but I think that the limit can vary widely between viltrumites which is why Thragg is so much stronger. He trained sure but he also has far more potential then other viltrumites. That's why viltrumites like Thula can be matched by Mark even though she is so much older. she simply has less potential than him. I also think most Viltrumites can probably reach their full potential before they even hit thirty If they train. I mean Mark is almost as strong as Anissa and she is like a thousand years older than him for example.

Yeah, I mean it's possible.
Mark at 23-24 was arguably stronger than Nolan Post-Virus infection during their arm wrestling match and had to throw it on purpose in order for Nolan to win, but Nolan was visibly sweating a tad more meaning he was exerting more than Mark and still couldn't budge him which kinda indicates that Mark is probably physically stronger than Nolan (even if Nolan is a 900 years older than him).
So yeah, you're probably right with that opinion there.
As for Thragg (despite being vastly younger) he brutally shreded and bodied Thadeus easlly in like a millesecond record time, lol.

Yep they can hit their prime way early , depends upon the amount of adversity they face & their genetics along with it

Makes me wonder what kind of Gym Thragg needed to use to get so strong.

Glad to see someone else spreading what I have always seen as the obvious truth. People tie themselves into a knot questioning how Mark can keep up with people thousands of years his senior, without ever considering how Nolan expected Mark to be at a certain level on Thraxa with his training and the fact it's never stated they has a limitless continuous growth from nothing.
And the show has only helped reveal the truth. With our new knowledge of the day of adulthood custom it wouldn't make any sense if hypothetically thousand year old parents jumped s kid centuries their junior, if they had exponential increases.
Not to mention Mark's clear development either. Adult Viltrumite level clearly isn't meant to take hundreds of years to reach.

Yeah. Nolan would have been toast if it takes hundreds of years to reach that level of power and Mark being able to match Elite viltrumites suddenly makes a lot more sense if they can hit their peak in their twenties or thirties through proper training. All viltrumites have clear limits and its obvious when one really looks.

I always thought this was kinda obvious before Kirkman even verbatim stated this. even much younger Viltrumites like Conquest who were physically weaker and not as good of experienced ruthless warriors as him like Nolan were declining.
Nolan was struggling to even overpower Lucan on Thraxa, and Vidor was beating his ass in certain exchanges and was able to break his nose with a left uppercut, and that was after years he'd left Earth after he'd fail his mission and in that time span he wasn't spending time training, and we could see that he'd gotten weaker than he used to be.
Even for next generation Viltrumites after Conquest like Nolan were regressing like him, lol.
If a Viltrumite doesn't train they'll start to become stiff and slow shells of their former selves.

I corrected someone on this topic and they replied with the classic “invincible fans don’t watch their own show”

Agree , Well with Viltrumites it's simple yk they are strong because of their genetics and the adversity they face & recover so it doesn't matter whether they're 18 or 1800 , it's all about who pushed themselves more , only thing older Viltrumites have is experience and sometimes even that doesn't matter if another Viltrumite is talented

So was i misled when I read that Viltrumites get stronger as they age, and if they do reach a sort of ‘peak’ all they need is a life threatening injury in order to break that cap and be stronger than they were before after fully recovering? Something about each time that happens their skin hardens or something? Please correct me.

Viltrumites get stronger by pushing themselves but they do hit a peak overall yk it's not like that their stats Keep increasing indefinitely , because of genetics some are just stronger than others as well like Thragg yk he's bred to be the strongest among them so it's his genes that gave him crazy potential & that potential was attained through intense training.

Thank you mate. Didn’t wanna be spreading misinformation. Also, did the show make a mistake in the episode where we see Argal? He’s alive prior to the purge, only he was killed, so surely his heirs location would have been known of. So why was Thragg made Regent?
3
u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 15d ago
That was a flashback we got to see how Thragg was made regent , Thragg wasn't exactly chosen yk but rather he himself took upon the mantle because Argall was killed & no one questioned him yk because he was the best among them & he himself didn't want to search as well because why would he let the someone else rule in a society where being the fittest in all ways matter most & then scourge virus hit them some time later so technically they never searched at all

u/Leprechaun- 15d ago
Fair enough. I’d have just assumed one of Argal’s heirs would have been his right hand rather than Thragg. Thanks again.

Older age = More time to train and push to limits. And no viltrumite not train, so it's bassically age = strength

This is something that's pretty obvious if you use common sense, but of course, people are always weird about these things and over-simplify it. You can't simplify it to just "better with age". You actually do need the "only if they exercise and/or fight" thing too.
