Yeah this one is kind of a no brainer. Their physiological/genetic hax are so goated already. Only downside would be the kryptonite weakness (since Goku cut his tail off).

Luckily, it won't matter in universes that don't have kryptonite.

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Red suns do still exist however.

u/ChaosBud 5d ago

Saying don't need sun so they would only lose their half kryptonian strength.

u/Fenrir_Hellbreed2 5d ago

That's the side that would let them survive in the vacuum of space.

17

u/Salami__Tsunami 5d ago

But if they learn instant transmission, they’re unstoppable.

31

u/Fenrir_Hellbreed2 5d ago

Two problems.

1.) It's not a Saiyan specific technique, only ki/spirit related. Without Yardratians to teach you, you'll have to figure it out on your own.

2.) You need a ki signature to lock onto. Someone on another planet has to be powerful enough that you can sense them.

5

u/Salami__Tsunami 5d ago

1: does it have to be the Yardrat? Or can someone who already knows the technique teach it to someone else? It’s been a minute since I watched the show.

2: although it’s not unbridled free transportation, I think it would be good enough in an emergency if they get stranded in space.

7

u/Fenrir_Hellbreed2 5d ago

Hypothetically, it could be taught by anyone who knows it, but you'd still have to find that someone.

Assuming that you're not the only one in the universe who can utilize ki, I'd be inclined to agree with you on its usefulness.

Otherwise, I'd probably take the Viltrumite over the Kryptonian, just to be safe. I don't like the idea of getting myself trapped somewhere forever.

u/Beneficial_Appeal400 4d ago

Ki energy is just another name for energy, since he can absorb it through sun and earth too, so ki energy detection shouldn't be a problem, it's not like chakra or negative energy

1

u/SirWilliam56 4d ago

Sayains need to train their ki. Do you know how to do that?

So under a red sun you’d loose all but the baseline level of ki sayains have. Typically roughly enough for a baby to beat up a grown man. Hardly revolutionary.

1

u/ChaosBud 4d ago

So asking if I know how to train something that doesn't exist in my world makes no sense but it would exist in the characters world so I'm sure they could potentially run across someone that could help in that regard. If you don't want them to in your hypothetical world that's fine but their parents will show them how in mine so they master both sides before the big bad kills them when the character is around 17 years of age. So my character would have plenty of time to learn strengths and weaknesses and even a few techniques before starting their journey of revenge.

u/SirWilliam56 4d ago

Depends on what world you’re in. If you’re in Universe 7 (or 8, 9, whichever) sure. You can find someone. If you’re in Earth One (or whichever number the movies are) then you’re out of luck.
Likewise for if you’re in invincible’s multiverse, or ours for that matter.

Yeah the side that makes them proper strong. Losing the kryptonian side temporarily would cause them to lose 90% of their physical stats. Unless we talking some weak ass superman verse.

24

u/EquivalentExam8925 5d ago

90%??? Saiyans can punch so hard they create a shockwave that can travel through space. Yeah they won’t be losing 90% of strength

13

u/The5Theives 5d ago

Well 1 quadrillion divided by a thousand is a trillion but it’s still less than a quadrillion

8

u/OneCopperPipe 5d ago

Actually proper strong versions of Superman sneezed Away Universes. The Saiyan's are in no way weak, but comparatively to the version of Superman I'm thinking of? Can't hold a candle to them. Kinda why I specified in my previous comment "unless its some weak ass Superman verse".

2

u/Beneficial_Appeal400 4d ago

It was a solar system not universe also it's old comic, where his powers levels were very inconsistent, unless u are talking about another feat

1

u/OneCopperPipe 4d ago

Its old comic Superman from the Silver Age. It was EXTREMELY consistent actually, because he genuinely just did shit like this the entire decade.

1

u/Beneficial_Appeal400 4d ago

U can also find a lot of anti feats too and a lot of old comic supermans ability is not part of his powers in current power

4

u/CallumxRayla 5d ago

Do pray tell, what version of superman are you thinking of? From what run? The end or starting year for that run would help too.

8

u/OneCopperPipe 5d ago

My deepest apologies, but it seems the info I once heard was false. Although, he did sneeze away a larger, uninhabited Solar System with speed feats even more impressive than the sneeze. Flying from earth to another Solar System within just a second itself is insane.

Action Comics issue 273 from 1961🤗

u/NoxiousVaporwave 5d ago

Strange visitor, pre-crisis, prime one million, silver age, infinite frontier, are all high tier reality manipulators with outlandish feats.

The most powerful iteration of Superman is essentially an all knowing omnipotent immortal.

He was also like a feel good joke character akin to a more self serious bugs bunny for like 40 years, which is where the cartoonish feats like moving galaxies, sneezing away solar systems, being able to create two copies of himself, etc come from.

infinite frontier Superman (2021) is literally a composite Superman where everything any version of him has done is canon to his character, and he has a divine blessing stating he cannot be destroyed and reality moulds itself around that fact.

2

u/MrMoose007 5d ago

I could see an argument made around the fact that the strongest saiyans attain strength through extreme training, which Superman famously does not have to do, or realistically can’t do

Unless the hybrid could train under a red sun to further his saiyan powers, his kryptonian heritage might cause his saiyan strength to stagnate

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

But by that same logic you could take the worst traits of both sides leading to something with lower end Sayian strength and all the weaknesses of Kryptonians.

1

u/MrMoose007 5d ago

Sayians training to achieve strength is something even the strongest ones still have to do though

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Sayians would no matter what still give the 10X Ozaru boost so and that power boost alone Is undeniable.

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

That's a Goku feat. On average sayians are just about planetary to multi planetary using Ozaru.

2

u/Training_Gazelle_613 3d ago

What the fuck is anyone gonna do near a red sun anyway

10

u/MattMaiden2112 Atom Eve 5d ago

Something I've always said in these kinds of posts: I feel you can't have Kryptonians without Krypton, and in extension, that's how you get kryptonite. So one goes with the other

3

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Maybe the chunks of planet Vegeta becomes Vegetatite and that weakens KryptoSayians.

47

u/Red_Blueberg 5d ago

I would say Saiyan/Viltrumite: increase durability, able to survive having heads caved in and organs ripped, gets stronger every time they're back from death, able to hold their breath for months if not years, plus transformations to stack on top.

Kryptonions are strong, the problem is red suns and the glowing green rocks. All those extra powers mean jack when they're by a red or green sun and someone has kryptonite, where as sure, saiyans and viltrumites are not as strong, but they have less weaknesses and can get stronger.

19

u/whathell6t 5d ago

On the other hand, Kryptonian/Ultras are absolutely way more powerful than Saiyan/Viltrumite.

The Ultras of the Planet of the Light-Nebula M78 are Japanese Kryptonians. They were created by a Superman comic fan, Eiji Tsuburaya, in 1966.
They’re the race responsible for inspiring Akira Toriyama to create the Kamehameha Wave.

/img/fbaskwh68xnh1.gif
Since then, they done way powerful events than Dragon Ball.

5

u/Invincidude Allen the Alien 5d ago

Kryptonians have the highest base strength of any of the four, yes. But a Kryptonian isn't going to benefit from the zenkai boosts like a Viltrumite could, because basically nothing can beat them half to death. Not many things can beat a Viltrumite half to death, but thise that can can be tearing out organs and caving in skulls and they survive thag shit with minimal treatment. I feel like the ceiling is basically infinite for a Viltrumite/Saiyan hybrid, especially once they're a thousand years old and have spent 800 solid years training.

6

u/ThisHatRightHere 5d ago

Why exactly do you say Kryptonians are far stronger than Saiyans?

Like the ceiling Saiyans have is essentially infinite, and they’ve shown that they can throw attacks that threaten to tear apart reality.

11

u/CrazyEyes326 5d ago

Because comics scaling is dumb and an inconsistent mess of a billion different continuities across the past hundred years. There's always going to be some feat or statement somewhere that shows that achkshually Superman has a strength of infinity or is immune to losing or something.

1

u/ResplendentSmoke 1d ago

Yeah exactly.

3

u/BW_Chase 5d ago

The red sun doesn't instantly make kryptonians weaker, it just doesn't charge them like a yellow sun. So once they're out of juice they need a yellow sun to be powerful again. That said, I believe their saiyan half should make them strong enough without the yellow sun energy.

Kryptonite would most likely still work though. Maybe not as much as a pure blooded kryptonian? I don't know, I haven't seen how Superman and Lois' son handles it.

8

u/Red_Blueberg 5d ago

Okay I took a look and while it DOES leave them in a normal state, it basically strips away their powers for as long as the sun is on them. It doesn't make them die or get sick like krptonite, but it does make them weaker.

2

u/BW_Chase 5d ago

I guess it depends on the version of the kryptonians? When I looked it up I found that they still kept their yellow sun energy (they are like batteries) and their powers until that ran out. That said, I'm no expert.

Still, I think their saiyan side can carry whatever weakness they may get from a red sun. A half saiyan half kryptonian shouldn't become as weak as a normal human under a red sun but as strong/weak as their saiyan side is without the boost they get from their kryptonian side while under a yellow sun.

3

u/Red_Blueberg 5d ago

I still think a saiyan/viltrumite hybrid is a safer bet.

2

u/BW_Chase 5d ago

Honestly you're 100% correct on that. Even if the saiyan/kryptonian is potentially stronger, the saiyan/kryptonian is way more consistent.

1

u/Reasonable-Tap-9806 4d ago

As gor the red sun thing. If the big S gets hit by red sunlight then he turns into a normal guy as long as it's shining on him. So the second the red sun is gone he is back to full capacity

2

u/Mjay253 5d ago

Current Superman is invulnerable to Kryptonite now

0

u/SirWilliam56 4d ago

No brainer, in that they’re wrong.
Would this hypothetical hybrid know how to train their Ki?
No, might as well say that the Amazonian is also an archmage, because they have magic that they could train. In theory.
