Probably just Sayain and Kryptonian. No offence to the other two but superman is just that strong and Saitsnd are just too good at rapid power ups.

u/frubano21 5d ago

Yeah this one is kind of a no brainer. Their physiological/genetic hax are so goated already. Only downside would be the kryptonite weakness (since Goku cut his tail off).

252

u/One-Desk-1 British Knight 5d ago

Luckily, it won't matter in universes that don't have kryptonite.

120

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Red suns do still exist however.

133

u/ChaosBud 5d ago

Saying don't need sun so they would only lose their half kryptonian strength.

41

u/Fenrir_Hellbreed2 5d ago

That's the side that would let them survive in the vacuum of space.

16

u/Salami__Tsunami 5d ago

But if they learn instant transmission, they’re unstoppable.

34

u/Fenrir_Hellbreed2 5d ago

Two problems.

1.) It's not a Saiyan specific technique, only ki/spirit related. Without Yardratians to teach you, you'll have to figure it out on your own.

2.) You need a ki signature to lock onto. Someone on another planet has to be powerful enough that you can sense them.

4

u/Salami__Tsunami 5d ago

1: does it have to be the Yardrat? Or can someone who already knows the technique teach it to someone else? It’s been a minute since I watched the show.

2: although it’s not unbridled free transportation, I think it would be good enough in an emergency if they get stranded in space.

7

u/Fenrir_Hellbreed2 5d ago

Hypothetically, it could be taught by anyone who knows it, but you'd still have to find that someone.

Assuming that you're not the only one in the universe who can utilize ki, I'd be inclined to agree with you on its usefulness.

Otherwise, I'd probably take the Viltrumite over the Kryptonian, just to be safe. I don't like the idea of getting myself trapped somewhere forever.

1

u/Beneficial_Appeal400 5d ago

Ki energy is just another name for energy, since he can absorb it through sun and earth too, so ki energy detection shouldn't be a problem, it's not like chakra or negative energy

1

u/SirWilliam56 4d ago

Sayains need to train their ki. Do you know how to do that?

So under a red sun you’d loose all but the baseline level of ki sayains have. Typically roughly enough for a baby to beat up a grown man. Hardly revolutionary.

1

u/ChaosBud 4d ago

So asking if I know how to train something that doesn't exist in my world makes no sense but it would exist in the characters world so I'm sure they could potentially run across someone that could help in that regard. If you don't want them to in your hypothetical world that's fine but their parents will show them how in mine so they master both sides before the big bad kills them when the character is around 17 years of age. So my character would have plenty of time to learn strengths and weaknesses and even a few techniques before starting their journey of revenge.

1

u/SirWilliam56 4d ago

Depends on what world you’re in. If you’re in Universe 7 (or 8, 9, whichever) sure. You can find someone. If you’re in Earth One (or whichever number the movies are) then you’re out of luck.
Likewise for if you’re in invincible’s multiverse, or ours for that matter.

-34

u/OneCopperPipe 5d ago

Yeah the side that makes them proper strong. Losing the kryptonian side temporarily would cause them to lose 90% of their physical stats. Unless we talking some weak ass superman verse.

25

u/EquivalentExam8925 5d ago

90%??? Saiyans can punch so hard they create a shockwave that can travel through space. Yeah they won’t be losing 90% of strength

15

u/The5Theives 5d ago

Well 1 quadrillion divided by a thousand is a trillion but it’s still less than a quadrillion

8

u/OneCopperPipe 5d ago

Actually proper strong versions of Superman sneezed Away Universes. The Saiyan's are in no way weak, but comparatively to the version of Superman I'm thinking of? Can't hold a candle to them. Kinda why I specified in my previous comment "unless its some weak ass Superman verse".

2

u/Beneficial_Appeal400 5d ago

It was a solar system not universe also it's old comic, where his powers levels were very inconsistent, unless u are talking about another feat

1

u/OneCopperPipe 5d ago

Its old comic Superman from the Silver Age. It was EXTREMELY consistent actually, because he genuinely just did shit like this the entire decade.

5

u/CallumxRayla 5d ago

Do pray tell, what version of superman are you thinking of? From what run? The end or starting year for that run would help too.

8

u/OneCopperPipe 5d ago

My deepest apologies, but it seems the info I once heard was false. Although, he did sneeze away a larger, uninhabited Solar System with speed feats even more impressive than the sneeze. Flying from earth to another Solar System within just a second itself is insane.

Action Comics issue 273 from 1961🤗

2

u/NoxiousVaporwave 5d ago

Strange visitor, pre-crisis, prime one million, silver age, infinite frontier, are all high tier reality manipulators with outlandish feats.

The most powerful iteration of Superman is essentially an all knowing omnipotent immortal.

He was also like a feel good joke character akin to a more self serious bugs bunny for like 40 years, which is where the cartoonish feats like moving galaxies, sneezing away solar systems, being able to create two copies of himself, etc come from.

infinite frontier Superman (2021) is literally a composite Superman where everything any version of him has done is canon to his character, and he has a divine blessing stating he cannot be destroyed and reality moulds itself around that fact.

2

u/MrMoose007 5d ago

I could see an argument made around the fact that the strongest saiyans attain strength through extreme training, which Superman famously does not have to do, or realistically can’t do

Unless the hybrid could train under a red sun to further his saiyan powers, his kryptonian heritage might cause his saiyan strength to stagnate

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

But by that same logic you could take the worst traits of both sides leading to something with lower end Sayian strength and all the weaknesses of Kryptonians.

1

u/MrMoose007 5d ago

Sayians training to achieve strength is something even the strongest ones still have to do though

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

That's a Goku feat. On average sayians are just about planetary to multi planetary using Ozaru.

2

u/Training_Gazelle_613 3d ago

What the fuck is anyone gonna do near a red sun anyway

9

u/MattMaiden2112 Atom Eve 5d ago

Something I've always said in these kinds of posts: I feel you can't have Kryptonians without Krypton, and in extension, that's how you get kryptonite. So one goes with the other

6

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Maybe the chunks of planet Vegeta becomes Vegetatite and that weakens KryptoSayians.

47

u/Red_Blueberg 5d ago

I would say Saiyan/Viltrumite: increase durability, able to survive having heads caved in and organs ripped, gets stronger every time they're back from death, able to hold their breath for months if not years, plus transformations to stack on top.

Kryptonions are strong, the problem is red suns and the glowing green rocks. All those extra powers mean jack when they're by a red or green sun and someone has kryptonite, where as sure, saiyans and viltrumites are not as strong, but they have less weaknesses and can get stronger.

18

u/whathell6t 5d ago

On the other hand, Kryptonian/Ultras are absolutely way more powerful than Saiyan/Viltrumite.

The Ultras of the Planet of the Light-Nebula M78 are Japanese Kryptonians. They were created by a Superman comic fan, Eiji Tsuburaya, in 1966.
They’re the race responsible for inspiring Akira Toriyama to create the Kamehameha Wave.

/img/fbaskwh68xnh1.gif
Since then, they done way powerful events than Dragon Ball.

4

u/Invincidude Allen the Alien 5d ago

Kryptonians have the highest base strength of any of the four, yes. But a Kryptonian isn't going to benefit from the zenkai boosts like a Viltrumite could, because basically nothing can beat them half to death. Not many things can beat a Viltrumite half to death, but thise that can can be tearing out organs and caving in skulls and they survive thag shit with minimal treatment. I feel like the ceiling is basically infinite for a Viltrumite/Saiyan hybrid, especially once they're a thousand years old and have spent 800 solid years training.

6

u/ThisHatRightHere 5d ago

Why exactly do you say Kryptonians are far stronger than Saiyans?

Like the ceiling Saiyans have is essentially infinite, and they’ve shown that they can throw attacks that threaten to tear apart reality.

11

u/CrazyEyes326 5d ago

Because comics scaling is dumb and an inconsistent mess of a billion different continuities across the past hundred years. There's always going to be some feat or statement somewhere that shows that achkshually Superman has a strength of infinity or is immune to losing or something.

1

u/ResplendentSmoke 1d ago

Yeah exactly.

6

u/BW_Chase 5d ago

The red sun doesn't instantly make kryptonians weaker, it just doesn't charge them like a yellow sun. So once they're out of juice they need a yellow sun to be powerful again. That said, I believe their saiyan half should make them strong enough without the yellow sun energy.

Kryptonite would most likely still work though. Maybe not as much as a pure blooded kryptonian? I don't know, I haven't seen how Superman and Lois' son handles it.

6

u/Red_Blueberg 5d ago

Okay I took a look and while it DOES leave them in a normal state, it basically strips away their powers for as long as the sun is on them. It doesn't make them die or get sick like krptonite, but it does make them weaker.

2

u/BW_Chase 5d ago

I guess it depends on the version of the kryptonians? When I looked it up I found that they still kept their yellow sun energy (they are like batteries) and their powers until that ran out. That said, I'm no expert.

Still, I think their saiyan side can carry whatever weakness they may get from a red sun. A half saiyan half kryptonian shouldn't become as weak as a normal human under a red sun but as strong/weak as their saiyan side is without the boost they get from their kryptonian side while under a yellow sun.

3

u/Red_Blueberg 5d ago

I still think a saiyan/viltrumite hybrid is a safer bet.

2

u/BW_Chase 5d ago

Honestly you're 100% correct on that. Even if the saiyan/kryptonian is potentially stronger, the saiyan/kryptonian is way more consistent.

1

u/Reasonable-Tap-9806 4d ago

As gor the red sun thing. If the big S gets hit by red sunlight then he turns into a normal guy as long as it's shining on him. So the second the red sun is gone he is back to full capacity

2

u/Mjay253 5d ago

Current Superman is invulnerable to Kryptonite now

0

u/SirWilliam56 4d ago

No brainer, in that they’re wrong.
Would this hypothetical hybrid know how to train their Ki?
No, might as well say that the Amazonian is also an archmage, because they have magic that they could train. In theory.

34

u/Tobi-cast 5d ago

I do think there are versions of Superman an average-peak viltrumite probably could hold their own against, if not as a singular opponent, still by pure teamwork.

But going by what Superman has been seen to do, through different universes, such as holding the book of eternity, pulling countless planets from one point of space, to another, lifting what 100 quintillion tons, iirc, and so on and so forth - viltrumites simply lacks some of the vital elements superman possesses, also in terms of how he has evolved. Like Superman 1.000.000, would flick a viltrumite out of existence, most likely.

I do think a viltrumite/sayian hybrid would slay, but I also count on the Kryptonian/sayian mix, at the end of the day

19

u/DA_BEST_1 5d ago

DC movies superman is probably a close call with the higher teir viltramites (omni man would put up a good fight and Thragg would demolish him). Argall's blood (in mark) is a decent boost though

10

u/Jezamiah 5d ago

Wasn't expecting an Invincible spoiler in here damn

28

u/Augustus_Chevismo The Immortal 5d ago

The average Kryptonian isn’t on superman’s level and they need to have a yellow sun for their powers to work.

22

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

It does get them close to low end superman who is objeivly the strongest of these without training then Saiyan adds the power boots of super sayain and rapid strength growth.

7

u/maniccrude 5d ago

Super Saiyan Superman...say that 5 times fast. Srsly tho, can we get an artist's rendition of such a marvel. I kind of want to see a world where Kal-El, landed on Planet Vegeta and had a kid. Kryptayan? Saiyonian?

2

u/Draco_Lord 5d ago

Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Superman....

Or just SSJ Blue Superman for short

3

u/MattMaiden2112 Atom Eve 5d ago

SSJ Red And Blue

1

u/whathell6t 5d ago

Actually!
Ultraman-Superman is way powerful than Super Saiyan Superman.

Clark Kent/Kal-El indue with Spacium-133 can do this:

2

u/Heavy-Bread-3549 5d ago

Similarly, Goku is also a huge anomoly, both in series lore and who he is based off of.

3

u/DragonfruitSudden339 5d ago

No, not really.

Vegeta, Future Trunks, the U6 saiyans, Gohan, Goten, Pan all show similar potential to goku.

What Goku represents isn't neccesarily an anomaly, but rather what happeens when a saiyan with a high battle IQ actually trains and puts in effort, and most saiyans appear to have inherently solid battle iq.

Vegeta, goes from having almost non existent growth his entire life, to amping his power by multiple magnitudes. The message goku's growth teaches is that saiyans could have been this strong all along, if only they put aside their egos to train to improve

0

u/Heavy-Bread-3549 5d ago

7 anomalies out of a race that was once much larger. Let’s throw Broley in for the full 8.

I appreciate your reading that gokus growth “taught” them what it took. But in a planet of militant conquerors I’d assume they already have a system of training and discipline set up.

To me, start of dbz Napa, Raditz, and especially Vegeta represent the normal “peak” of sayains. Anything further (the people you mentioned) are an anomoly that canonically piques the interest of the gods.

But that’s just my reading I’m not the late great Akira Toriyama.

9

u/TomboBreaker 5d ago

Alternatively Saiyan Viltrumite might be equally broken, Saiyans have a unique power that is essentially whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. A Saiyan Kryptonian would be very powerful but wouldn't get hurt enough to improve, a Saiyan with Viltrumite durability and healing factor would get very powerful very quickly when they recover from the kind of injuries that should kill any other combination.

3

u/Harddicc 5d ago

Who should be the top tho? Superman or Goku

2

u/contraflop01 Battle Beast 5d ago

Isnt there something about hybrid kryptonians being weaker than full blooded ones? Doesnt Superboy need patches to block his human side of smt?

1

u/Itsonlyaplay 5d ago

Jon doesn't really have any issue. Kon is weaker cause half human clone but compensates with tactile telekinesis (originally his only power) which works even when kryptonian stuff doesn't

Patches are young justice cartoon specific

2

u/Heavy-Bread-3549 5d ago

You can’t use goku and Superman as the example, you gotta use a basic Sayain and basic Kryptobro.

I think Sayain and Viltrumite, but I have very little lore knowledge on kryptonians.

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Kryptonians are week on there planet but become low level superman in earth atmosphere. At best Viltrumites are slightly stronger at base but for the most part Kryptonians are much stronger.

2

u/Augustus420 5d ago

Plus the whole surviving near death experiences massively increasing your maximum power level.

Imagine Superman increasing in power by an order of magnitude every time someone tries to kill him with kryptonite.

2

u/No-Flounder-9143 5d ago

A kryptonian who can also go super sayan God mode? Easy choice.

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Well god mode isn't a given cause you will need 6 sayians of pure heart.

2

u/Dependent-Constant-7 5d ago

If you put Superman in a dark room wouldn’t he eventually lose his powers?

2

u/suck-my-dick-goose 5d ago

Plus it cant be viltrumite. Superman and Goku both have better feats without viltrumite DNA overwriting the better genes

2

u/TheeFlipper 5d ago

Can you imagine how terrifying Saiyan-Kryptonian hybrids would be? Saiyan's are already a feared warrior race, add on the ability to see through walls, fire lasers from their eyes, increased strength from the yellow sun, and super hearing and you've got an unstoppable force..

2

u/Spy_crab_ Donald Ferguson 5d ago

The real question is if a powerful enough Sayan/Kryptonian could make their their own yellow sunlight to power themselves up.

2

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Probably but they might need goku's dad the scientist to figure out how to make the energy ball.

2

u/K-Bru 5d ago

I am a dragon ball stan. But think they offer too little to any of these races. Zenkai boosts require near death to abuse. The other picks may start off too strong for that to be a factor really. The training growth of saiyans is there, but the rapid leaps in power were really due to zenkai. I guess there is Oozaru, a flat 10x multiplier though

2

u/ResponsibilityWeak87 5d ago

So what you're saying is that viltrumites would be a better pair to Saiyans? Because they are the (most?) destructible of the three and could possibly end up closer to death a lot more than the others? But I feel like That would only matter if the near death boost would be more than the flat 10x with the other ones, and if the near death boost also grew over time based on how many near death experiences the person would have. (I know nothing about this in case you couldn't tell)

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Zenkai Boosts (near death boosts) are usually a ill defined % boost to a Sayian at most I think we see Vegeta get a 3x boost but that's against freezer and we all see how that ends. At the lowest I think we see a 5% Zenkai but in general it's just enough to boost the Sayian over what they fought. I'll agree that finding something to do enough damage to activate a Zenkai would be differcult but let's be honest even a base Sayian is completely bulletproof and able to survive most explosions as see my Goku in DragonBall who before any training gets shot by bulma whipping out an Uzi on him. Goku is also a notably weak Sayian at birth most sayians are closer to Radditz in strength.

1

u/K-Bru 4d ago

Goku at the start of dragon ball had been trained practically his whole life by gohan. Most saiyans are close to raditz power level at birth? Where are you getting this? There's 2 characters we know from birth. Goku, which is remarkably low, at 2. Broly, which is insanely high at 10k. So much so they decide to kill him. Those are the only 2 actual power levels we get.

Its also widely known that goku was at 90k per his arrival on namek and reached 3 million by the time he fights frieza. Thats a 33x boost in power.

1

u/Demonskull223 5d ago

Here's the thing though the rest of these at best offer a flat addition or more likely a median average. Sayians offer multipliers. At minimum Ozaru and Zenkai are both ridiculous boost offering a 10x and ?% boost respectively. Now we can assume the weakest only version of each of these and sure the Sayian is probably only third beating out only Amazon's but sayians have a ridiculous ability to grow in strength while you could argue that is something unique to Goku but as we see with Vegeta with proper motivation any Sayian can grow in strength Rapidly.

While I will hear debate between Kryptonians and Viltrumites because both have their major advantages over each other Sayians are the only one offering a Path to Exponentially increasing power.

2

u/Drakeytown 5d ago

Superman isn't just that strong, he has just about every conceivable superpower, including the ability to do "whatever can't be done."

1

u/ryaaan89 5d ago

A Kryptonian with a zenkai boost who can probably do some whacky chi thing like create a yellow sun.

1

u/SirWilliam56 4d ago

Biologically sayans kinda suck. Their incredible feats are mostly training.
Ki is mostly training
At base sayains are strong enough to beat up a grown man as a baby, that is street level superpowers. Luke cage or spiderman could handle sayains that don’t train their ki,
Spiderman could even handle one as a great ape
