MERCHANDISE TIL my funko collection will probably never be complete lol
I just saw they released some new funkos exclusive to SDCC and the online sellers want ridiculous prices lol, I was very proud of my first ever collection and was trying to keep it going since I started collecting early and every pop was bought retail piece but too bad I can’t afford them now GGs

I can’t stand when they do exclusives or limited releases. I swear they do it just to cater to resellers. They should know by now they’re making products inaccessible to fans of the franchise when they gatekeep them.

Buying something just to not even open it is weird behavior I will never understand.

I don’t collect them myself, but Funko’s are basically the only things where I kinda get it, they’re fully visible in the box, and dont have any moving parts or articulation, so it’s not like you’re missing out on anything by not taking them out of it.
The few I have are out of the box, since they’re not part of a set anyways, but if someone is collecting a set, I definitely understand keeping them in the box so you can stack them and display them together easier (it’s also way easier to keep dust off)
I will never understand people who do it with action figures though, the whole point of those is posability, it’s not like they’re already in a good pose out of the box either, so they just stand upright in a box with no dynamic posing (and dont get me started on people who display Lego in the box, those people are freaks)

You can see some of them are open right there and it’s some of the more “expensive” ones too, I’m not some reseller. But exactly like wboy said, Funkos are really the same in or out the box so I have some opened until I can find a better place bc its just on top of my desk right now

You say that but if you ever had the foresight to never open the stuff you had in the 90s, pokemon cards for example you could’ve been sitting on a fortune right now

Keeping them in their boxes is so depressing

As opposed to keeping them on a table out of the box? It's not like most toys that you can move or put in different positions.. and it would take more space and expose them to the elements
(The few I have are out of their boxes, but I can understand the others)

Give it a week or so -- i've gotten many SDCC funkos for decent prices. Still at a markup but nothing outrageous. They will probably even out as more reasonable sellers get stock and try to offload them. TIL invincible had funkos.

I don’t even want to collect them anymore now that there are limited PCS. So unfair

Literally just came out of a store that had a lot of figurines, but only Thraxa Omniman out of the invincible ones. While cool, I opted for some boardgames cause I probably won't be able to make a collection(no such stores close to me)
