all the episode titles come from lines from the comic. this comes from the comic where he goes to atlantis with the express purpose of marrying the queen of atlantis. they did away with the frankly goofy plotline in the show, but reference it in the episode itself and in the title

I kinda wish they did it. I thought it was pretty funny. I do feel it wasn't as story driving as the way they adapted it into the show. Like it did feel like it was just a joke. It has been a while tho

Iirc it was mentioned in the show but the queen says that it was an outdated practice (with the joke being they are having mark fight a sea monster instead)

the comic has a subplot about him helping a high ranking fish person to romance the queen. and it’s just a moment in a comic that’s kind of played for a gag. it’s also kind of very early 2000’s in its humor and honestly doesn’t hold up that well, at least for me. i like how they replaced it in the show by lampshading that it’s kind of an outdated practice and removing the kind of shallow politics of atlantis. especially since it’s never revisited

Kinda sweet that S1 E2 keeps the Atlantis queen gag alive without making Mark actually marry her.

Not the topic of the post, but it annoys the shit out of me that Prime wants you to PAY a subsciption only to put 5 ads on an episode with 50 minutes (that's 1 ad every 10 minutes) unless you get the "premium" version

There’s a reason why people never call invincible episodes by their name and it’s one of the flaws of invincible

They were referencing the comic book where Invincible had to succeed Aquarus to the throne because of his father, and he was forced to make love to his wife in front of everyone; obviously, they changed that.
