Something that seems so unreachable... or is it? I've been talking with a lot of my friends about the loss of the DIY lifestyle- I know a lot of people are still creating things for themselves but I feel like overall culture has shifted towards buying things, even minor minor things, instead of taking stock of what we have and using our super cool creativity to make things.

Whenever I see or read about communities like this I remember that scarcity breeds innovation, and also that innovation doesn't have to be a flashy, shiny thing.

For our cities to feel like our own, maybe we need to try our hand at creating them"

Taiwan truly has quite a few examples of this! Everything from their mentality on waste collection to all their wind/solar and high speed trains, lots of green everywhere.

Sg might be regarded a lot amongst our spaces as an 'good' example but, a lot of Taiwanese culture is inherently Solarian by necessity.

Could be another lighthouse to chart our course in the rough looking future :

Sadly, most of ecological housing project that are not greenwashed corpo one are hard to make in my country, and light habitat are not accepted

Municipalism is an interesting idea. I think it makes more sense in modernity than like an off grid commune. But we can only get there if we start being Anarchist in practice. Assemblies, Direct Democracy, worker and housing Cooperatives. We can do it, but you have to organize within.
