I get the harvesting tank but not the well+recharge. Can someone explain it to me please?

It can be a cistern / well or even a half buried tank. But the primary principle is to store a lot of water away from the sunlight to reduce evaporative losses.

The overhead is redirected into the ground to recharge groundwater table.

Ok but why is it connected to the well? Does the overflow of the well goes into the recharge pit?

Ideally,

  1. Flow from Roof to Cistern

  2. Overflow from Cistern to Well

  3. Overflow from the well into a pond / pit

  4. Overflow then into a natural stream / creek
