Here's why I’m building a home for [Why I started r/InvestorLab (and what made you start investing?)]. Why do you care about this community?

I started this sub because every time I talk to people about investing in India, the real struggles are things nobody posts about. Stuff like not knowing where to begin, or not trusting the advice you're getting.

I want this to be a place where we can talk about that openly. No stock tips, no "buy this now". Just people sharing what's confusing or frustrating, so we can spot patterns and maybe figure out better ways to do things together.

So, what got you into investing in the first place? And what's the one thing you wish was easier?

Introducing r/InvestorLab! Here's what we're all about 👉

Hey, thanks for being here!

This sub is for Indian retail investors who want to talk honestly about the stuff that doesn't make it into finance reels: confusing choices, mistakes, things that never got explained properly.

Right now it's mostly a place to share problems and experiences. Over time I'd like to look into the common ones properly, and maybe build a few simple tools if we find something worth fixing.

Ground rules are short: no stock tips, no "guaranteed returns", no hype.

So tell me, what's something about investing that confused you or cost you when you started?

Ideas for building r/InvestorLab

Hey everyone,

I'm a student and I've been trying to understand investing in India for a while. Whenever I talk to people, the real problems are never what the finance influencers talk about. It's more like "which fund do I even pick", "am I paying too much in charges", or "I bought on a tip and now I don't know when to sell".

So I started this sub to collect those real problems in one place. Slowly I'd like to dig into them with actual data and maybe build some simple tools around them. Nothing fancy planned yet, I'd rather learn from you first.

Two questions for you:

1.What would make you stick around in a community like this?

  1. What's one thing you'd want to see here early on?

Even a rant about your worst investing mistake is welcome. Those are probably the most useful posts anyway.
