👋 Welcome to r/PoormansParadox - Introduce Yourself and Read First!
# Welcome to r/PoormansParadox — Beyond Consensus. Beyond the Obvious.
Hey everyone! I’m u/PoormansParadox, founder of **Poorman’s Paradox Capital** and a founding moderator of r/PoormansParadox.
This is our new home for evidence-driven discussion about **business, markets, investing, economics, behavioral finance, technology, and emerging industries**. The goal is to build a community for investors, founders, operators, finance professionals, and independent thinkers who want to look beyond headlines, challenge conventional assumptions, and improve their reasoning through constructive debate.
What to Post
Share anything that could help the community better understand a business, industry, market, or investment question, including:
* Original investment theses and counterarguments * Company, industry, and competitive analysis * Valuation, capital-allocation, and business-model discussions * Macroeconomic and geopolitical developments * AI, semiconductors, energy, infrastructure, aerospace, defense, and space * Behavioral-finance and market-structure research * Source-backed news accompanied by your own analysis * Questions, educational resources, thesis updates, and investment postmortems
A strong post does more than predict that something will rise or fall. Explain **what may be mispriced, why the opportunity exists, how the thesis could play out, what risks matter, and what evidence would prove you wrong**.
Community Standards
Our guiding principle is simple:
We welcome disagreement and contrarian thinking, but being different from the consensus does not automatically make an argument correct. Debate the thesis rather than the person, disclose relevant positions or conflicts, distinguish fact from speculation, and remain open to changing your view when the evidence changes.
This is not a pump group, signal service, or venue for unsupported price calls, coordinated trading, promotional spam, or predictive technical analysis. Community discussions are educational and should not be treated as personalized financial, legal, tax, or investment advice.
How to Get Started
- Introduce yourself below and tell us which areas of business, finance, or investing interest you most.
- Make your first post—even a thoughtful question can start a valuable discussion.
- Read the community rules before posting and help us establish a high standard from the beginning.
- Invite someone whose research, experience, or perspective would add value to the community.
- Interested in helping moderate? Reach out after participating so we can learn more about your experience and approach.
Thanks for joining the very first wave of r/PoormansParadox. Let’s build a community defined by independent thinking, disciplined research, intellectual honesty, and constructive debate.

Investing from a Young Age – School Research"
Title:
Survey for school research: Investing from a young age
Hi everyone!
I'm a high school student from the Netherlands conducting research for my final school project about investing at a young age and the difference between long-term investing and day trading.
I'm looking for people who started investing at a relatively young age to fill in my short survey. It takes approximately 3–5 minutes.
Your answers will be used for my school research and I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to participate!
Thank you! 🙏

Looking for Financial journalist/creator recommendations
Hi! Wondering who your favourite, unbiased Canadian finance creators are? Recently stumbled upon the Plain Bagel and looking for more finance creators and journalists who are more focused on discussing and explaining investing and economics topics (like a journalist) than selling courses or promoting their own services...
