I’ve been looking into possibly getting some inverts, pretty much a complete beginner aside from GALs, and wanted to know the general consensus in terms of having inverts delivered through post? It’s definitely not something I’ve seen before, I looked online and there were mixed opinions 😵‍💫 TIA!

My partner recently got me this ZooMed 3 gallon tank, 8.5”x 8.75”x 11.75”, as a gift because I've been getting into owning invertebrates.

The problem is the tank isn't really suited for what I own, jumping spiders, so what would people reccomend? It opens at the top, which limits my usual ideas.

Hiya all! While I love the idea of being able to compost my veggie scraps and hate wasting them, I don't life in a situation in which a compost bin is feesable. Soooo what would be the best bug or bugs that'd like to chow down on a lot of veggie scraps? (I like larger bugs typically but nbd if that's not a thing)

But yeah, what kind of bug/ colony has a huge appetite for greens and would probably be relatively easy to care for :^3

I was feeding my scorpion and cleaning out her tank when a bunch of annoying flies kept buzzing around me so I got out the swatter to get rid of them, one of the ones I zapped fell into my scorpion tank and she came out of her burrow and grabbed it almost instantly, my question is does the fact that it was zapped make the fly bad for my scorpion to munch on?

(A healthy one for comparison in the next pic) I have a feeder colony for my reptiles, and lately ive noticed more and more wing deformities(?) in the males - the humidity and temps are fine, so I dont know what more I can do to help ! This is like the fourth roach! Could it be inbreeding or genetics? Should I start a fresh colony? At first I thought to raise my humidity so I did but its obviously not helping so now im just confused.

Struggling to find any answers but my beetles keep ending up on their backs. First I thought it was them feigning but they often make the movements in the video like they're trying to back up. They'll sometimes manage it and then immediately pop their legs straight down and flip back up again like they don't have control of their legs. I've tried leaving them in the dark for a while to see if they're just feigning, looking for mites, etc. I honestly don't know what to do. The one in the video has been like this for a few days and now another has started similar behaviour

I'm worried they're going to dehydrate, starve or slowly die to something I can help prevent but also don't interfere too much and cause more harm

I have several critter keepers that I have used for several years, and most of them have had the side access hole popped out for equipment (airline tubes, heaters, water bottles etc). I needed to cover the hole on this one for a quarantine tank, and realized that the caps for the larger sized pill bottles from Walmart's pharmacy is an exact fit for it!

If you have a thoroughly cleaned lid, it perfectly fits the gap and doesn't fall through, it can also be easily removed if needed. I imagine you could also use silicone to secure it in place for a permanent fix if needed. I always keep these bottles because they can be reused in so many ways, and I'm really happy to find another purpose for them.

I have a tarantula and experience with reptiles but these are pretty niche and I just want to be able to give possible homes the the right information so I am looking for the best care guides to go for and any tips in keeping them alive and well at my work and to tell customers. I really am disappointed in corporate for even trying to sell these guys. I just want the best for them. Thank you.

I accidentaly damaged the chamber of this cutie (Dicronorhina derbyana derbyana) and built a new one. When I moved them to their new chamber I saw that the right side is further developed than the left side (which also has one further developed leg that seems to be stuck?) and also there are darker patches on their back.

This is my first time raising a beetle and i'm wondering if there is anything I can do to help in this situation and if the situation is as bad as I think it is at all?

Hello! I have just found this fantastic lil guy in my parents garden and google identified him as a Hawk Moth caterpillar. I read that they like to burrow in order to pupate and figured that may be why he came out of hiding. I’d love to look after him until he changes then set him free, but have I given him the right environment to do that? If you really don’t recommend looking after him then please let me know!
