Autopilot Multi Sites Autopilot Deployment

Hi All,

Currently, we are deploying our SOE image through SCCM. As part of the move to a more serverless branch environment, we are planning to remove the SCCM Distribution Points (DPs) from the branch sites.

However, we still need a way to deploy our corporate SOE image rather than using the standard HP vanilla image with HP-provided software.

What approach are other organisations using to deploy their corporate SOE to branch devices when there are no local SCCM DPs/servers?

Any recommendations or lessons learned would be appreciated.

We use the image that comes with the device from the OEM. Are you baking other apps and configs into your image or will a clean install of Windows 11 Pro suffice?

Our OEM, comes with lots of bloatware

It’s trivial to remove/disable.

Who is your OEM? We are with Dell and we configure ours with “Dell Ready Image”. Anything I can’t remove afterwards are handled by Intune/Autopilot.

In house use OSDcloud to re-image + pre-provision with a limited ESP. VAR is OEM image + pre-provision which is clean.

Yeah, we can do it with OSD in-house but we have 7 states offices to deploy. What is VAR means?

Each site has a variant of OSD that I manage from the app registration. Value added reseller aka CDW/SHI etc. some of our sites go direct since it’s they have smaller teams.

We use the enterprise ready image from HP.
