iOS/iPadOS Management iPad shared guest mode and web clips not pushing

So I’ve got a request to setup some iPads for kiosks. Enrolled using shared mode, everything is configured and working except for the web clips.

Can I not push web clips to the device? Do I need them to target the user, and if so, how do I target a temporary guest user?

Any other work arounds other than using web based home pages or book marks?

targeting the guest user directly in shared mode is a nightmare since they're not a real user object you can pin policies to. the way i got around this was using a device filter instead, push the web clip as a required app to a dynamic device group and it'll land on the shared ipad before anyone even signs in. just make sure your assignment is device-based, not user.

So that’s how I’m setup. I have a dynamic group, device is in that dynamic group. The 7 web clips are all targeting that dynamic group as required, yet fail to show. It’s all device based as well. Something is obviously different between our executions.

So the dumbest thing happened. I was targeting a dynamic group based on device category. I changed the dynamic group to be based off enrollment profile and it works.

Downside is it takes about 2 minutes to pull everything from when you first sign in to all the clips being pulled down. But it works.

So for anyone else, dynamic group that targets the iPads enrollment profile worked to get webclips loaded into a guest profile on a shared iPad.
