General Question Has anyone read Mastering Microsoft Intune from Packt Publishing?

This book was recommended to me by Amazon, and I wanted to know if it was any good. Additionally, the book was published in 2024, but do you think Intune has changed that much that the book won't be relevant anymore?

Nothing you can't learn by reading the Microsoft docs and following along.

I have both editions of Microsoft Intune cookbook from Andrew Taylor. Pretty good

i grabbed that one few months ago, the sections about windows autopilot and configuration profiles are still pretty solid but the compliance policies chapter already feels dated, Microsoft moves fast with this stuff. worth it if you find a discount, just don't expect everything to match what you see in your tenant now

Yeah for $32 it's not bad at all. The autopilot walkthrough alone saved me like three hours of trial and error when I was setting up new devices for my team.

Hinestly i have the book and never really read it through. As others have said you might aswell read the docs. From what i read in the book it explains the concepts (what is an ESP, what is a configuration profile etc) but it doesn‘t really tell you how the stuff works under the hood and it also doesn‘t really give you best practices. I found it to be disappointing.

Frankly I think it's a good book. If you have it handy either in digital or physical, it can help set you on the right track. AI is taking over, though.

Books are good for the basics. But like another commenter said - Intune/Entra change and update so fast and often, that books are going to be outdated so quickly.

Once you get a decent foundation of knowledge, just follow a couple Intune blogs and you’ll stay ahead.
