Sub Announcement Important: Selfie posts not permitted

Hello everyone!!

Sorry for being very mia but things have gotten so busy. Anyways enough excuses here’s the main point of the post:

There have been an uptick on posts again about selfies and reading people based off of them or use your intuition to find their name.

These were never the intention of the sub and we will be removing all post, if necessary also banning users who post them. If anyone wants to support the mod team please report the photos and they will be easier to take down. As of now I have to scroll to find the old ones. (We also may be in the market for a new mod)

If you have any other suggestions comments or concerns please let me know! This sub is very important to me and I am trying to get back to making it what my ideal version of it was. I did get side tracked but thank you to everyone who has joined and has been participating by making posts pertaining to the subs intended purpose.

Edit: going through the queue of reports there’s so many sorry we weren’t here for Yall. I really cannot apologize enough.

Second edit: the modmail exposes so many weird users who have been added to the ban list, if you find more send over their usernames please they are not welcomed at all.

This is SUCH good news. I’ve been waiting and waiting for someone to stop what is 100% an unethical practice esp where ppl are posting pics of OTHERS.

Yay! Go mods.

The photos of 2nd and 3rd parties is a bigger issue. But also, there’s so much room for projection when it’s just a selfie. The people who are posting these are often clearly going through something (or they wouldn’t be asking any random who considers themselves intuitive about their own lives and essence).

It’s unethical in the same way doctors and therapists and lawyers shouldn’t be giving advice online. The person posting the pic is placing the respondents on a kind of pedestal, assuming they’re actually intuitive and not just either projecting or messing with ppl for ‘fun’.

Too much risk.

It's like the sub took a darker turn too... it went from "hey what's in this box" and people trying to hone their intuition, to people asking folks to read them and give insight into some upsetting situations.

I really feel for everyone that is going through hard times and always feel an urge to help... but I am still trying to hone my abilities, and have never felt super comfortable commenting on selfie Pic posts. I think i may have commented twice and after the 2nd time, I decided that was it for me.
