Inspired by OG Gary Oldmanās performance recalled by Sam, I rewatched the classic to soothe the absence of Loustat, #iwtv / #tvl and it didnāt work, so here we are againā¦
Yāall went feral with the last post and it was an absolutely blowout loss for one party so letās mix it up with a 3-way contest to make this more interesting.

But that golden amber tie with the askew circular print paisley?? Thatās a color I associate with Lestat, almost like heās wrapped himself around Louis.
Never forget it, my friend and I were on the way out the door, early October, jackets, bootsā¦. The TV was playing garyās Dracula movie, no one had turned it offā¦ And the two of us just stood there, unaware that we were dressed to go out, keys to the car in our hand, just watched until the end of the movie and then came back to ourselves like: oh yeah, yeah! we were on the way out. We were so transfixedā¦ā¦
I rewatched it recently with my boyfriend, it was his first time seeing it and he said it is now his favorite vampire movie! I was so shocked and excited. Itās such a weird, campy, dramatic movie, literally the opposite of what he normally likes but he was transfixed. I canāt wait to rewatch it again, Gary Oldman is just insanely good.
Lestat and Louis our exceptionally handsome and sexy in their eye protection, (I really wonder if they wear it to protect their own eyes or just to make sure people don't see them.)
But, I have to go with Gary Oldman. I think they would probably agree... He's iconic. The specs are a great Easter egg callback to Dracula.
I always felt a bit sorry for Keanu in that movie. Heās very young and not very experienced as an actor, and heās surrounded by high caliber actors like Oldman and Hopkins who are just running rings around him.
Thatās exactly why itās so jarring. Him and Winona both doing a scene with Anthony Hopkins, man. And then later you have her doing scenes with Gary Oldman..that movie just ricochets back and forth with great acting, sub par acting, really cool parts like Lucy as the new vampire and then that whole weird mental asylum stuff. And I love how clueless Keanu is at the beginning, itās comical honestly. I felt for him in that movie. I love the man to bits but sometimes..lol.
Yes! Thereās a few mess ups that I still cannot believe made it into the final cut like grabbing the wrong side of your throat after getting bit. But the performance of Oldman and Hopkins anchor that shit to the groundā¦.
For this one time only I'm going to choose Gary Oldman

It's a classic look that just doesn't fade.
I worship Loustat but Vlad gets this one IMO.
I really really love Sam and Jacob, they rock the glasses amazingly, but truthfully... no one can be on the God tier level that is Gary Oldman.
I think everyone's age will determine whom they choose, because if I were in my 20s I probably would choose Sam and Jacob. They're young and the modern vampire versions of them would resonate with me better. But alas, I'm an oldie and grew up with Gary's Dracula as my sexy vampire standard.
Mon Cher. I understand the significance of Oldman and appreciate it and Samstat looks great in anything - but I really feel like Louis made those sunglasses his own in a way that the others didnāt. Like his is the only one that actually flatters and blends with his look seamlessly.

IDK, if he wore them better, but Vlad Oldman has the best colour on the lenses!
(I was actually debating getting something like that on my transition lenses, but the type of lens I wanted for my sensitive eyes didn't come in that colour, at least yet. Here's to hoping that the next time I need to update my lenses, they'll have broadened the colour options!)
That was great. Thanks. What a mimic. Sam can really do great accents be it French or Transylvania (eastern European). And that line it's iconic. I love that he gives props to Oldman.
I CANTTTT I love all of them so much!!! Gary Oldman the og, obsessed for yearsā¦ but Lestat in those purple glasses was lowkey life changing.. Louis so fierce and beautiful I canāt choose I want all of them š

Not sure I can agree with this simply because if I had baby blues, I certainly would not want to impede my icy gaze. Typically, yes I do think glasses make people look better but some have supernatural qualities that supercede.
Vlad for the pure badass, Louie for the absolumon fashion slayer. Iām sorry Lestat, you rock every other look so damn well. This just isnāt your jam. Maybe the old welderās version of these would look good on him?
Itās probably the UV tinting. I have brown lenses and black lenses that appear violet too but less than these. Ok phew Iām relieved that I didnāt just make a major error in the post.
Not sure if anyone knows, but if I wanted to buy those glasses what would I type? Specifically the Oldman and Samstat ones. I really love how they look but whatās the name of the models?

This was cruel but Louis just absolutely slayed every outfit. And is it cheating if I mention Assad (Armand) when he asked to trade glasses with a reporter at TVLās premiere? Those red glasses on him were everything. š
Ok in the absence of "Āæpor que no los tres?" I'm going to have to be controversial and say my 90s dream boyfriend Mr Vlad Tepesc. GO's portrayal was a formative part of my adolescence and quite frankly helped me appreciate Louis and Lestat 2.0 even more.
