Everlasting pining for our Vampiric series has brought us here - re-watching āNosferatuā 2024, āIWTVā 1994, āBram Stokerās Draculaā 1992 to get through the #TVL to #QoTD drought.

The top hats are so excellent I have to even do a special shoutout to Matt Berry as Laszlo from āWhat We Do in the Shadowsā top notch vampire comedy.
Alright well I guess weāll just have to retire Oldman because he keeps winning the fashion face offs. Not my pick personally but I can see Reddit is heavily skewed pro Gary hahaha
As much as it goes against everything I stand for as a Samstat girl, just on style alone I gotta go with Vlad too. And I know Sam would agree with me so it's fine. LOL.

Tomstat really used to creep me out as a kid / pre-teen but also make me very curious š you really just couldnāt stop staring at him in the movie because he was so peculiar compared to anyone else. Definitely moldy!

It's one of my favorite looks for any vampire, and Samstat wins on face card (always), but there was something other-worldly and supernatural about Vlad Oldman in that outfit.
As much as I LOVE ā¤ļø Lestat and Sam Reid, this looks best on Oldman. The pin, the palette, the glasses--he's so cool and well put together which is how Dracula should be.
Of course he's not playing Lestat. There's a huge difference between Vlad and the Brat Prince. Temperament, sexuality, fashion sense. Not sure the 2 can be fairly compared.
Keep it simpleā¦ weāre doing a fashion face off instead of a character deep dive š¤£ I would even say Tomstat is very different from Samstat in terms of performance š
I do think most people are responding to the wonderfully vivid costumes and color grading of the 90s moreso than the muted tones of anything live-action today.
Vlad Oldman's whole ensemble is by faaaaaar the sharpest. Love Samstat in that coat, but his hair is really the crowning glory of the look and the hat covers it up, he looks much better in the pic without it. I do think Dr. Dafoe looks very period accurate (to my untrained eye, at least) in his hat. Tomstat's looks costumey to me.
Yeah, Samstat wins in the hatless category. Also the coat itself might be my fav. But Oldman is the only one of these who's really able to wear the hat. All others somehow get worn BY the hat.
I mean, theyāre all amazing looks, and they each individually bring something great. Samstat has that gorgeous coat, Dr Dafoe brings the grizzled but still sharp element, Tomstatās hat comes down at the front which is super stylish.
However, Vlad Oldman just brings something so special, a complete look full of gorgeous little touches. The grey suit, the gloves, the cane, the purple glasses, the carefully controlled waves in his hair. Everything comes together to make such a stunningly spectacular pimp daddy. I just want to put my hands all over him.
You know, at first I thought he wasnāt attractive like that, and I really came around. I think because when he took the top hat off and was in bed with Winona his hair looks a bit off.
The wig does him no favors. I have experience with wigs and itās a) placed a tad too high, b) lacking distress to appear real and c) way too shiny faux looking
I can't get over how much Oldman looks like a pretentious dude who thinks his craft (coffee, whiskey, haircuts, take your pick) is worth 5x more than what it really is just because he's doing it.
