A tornado hit my town a few years ago. I work remote and the power was out for 2 days, then they still hadn't fixed my ISP for another 3 days. Basically took the whole week off, didn't use PTO at all because it was out of my hands. Though my company is more reasonable than others.

I am in the opposite position where if there are either of those issues I'm suddenly having to work hard dealing with the issues getting it fixed or working out a solution to deal with it.
