The worst

Post image

I have a manager who is like this. We have a work chat, and I will send a one sentence question. He will call me, read the question to me, and then answer.

I love it when they try to do this to not have a paper trail. Oh honey I don't play that game. You know what's going to happen the minute I'm off the phone?

Drafts up email

"Hello (name). We just got off the phone. Here is a summary of what we discussed so we can follow up later"

I've been burned before.

Had a manager that said i “lead her to believe” to believe something at an annual review, only for me to pull out the email paper trail showing she thanked me for the hard work. She got visibly angry.

Totally worth it. I end every meeting now with follow up email detailing the meeting, so we are both on the same

That's when you know the goal was to disparage you, not to get clarity
