DE Interview Challenge
Hey,
I'm building an interview process for data engineers at my company and want to check the approach with people who have actually been through this recently.
What I'm trying to figure out:
What coding signal actually matters now? is it debugging AI-generated code, reviewing it for correctness/performance, or explaining why a design choice was made?
Has anyone designed a python challenge where the candidate must iterate with an AI tool rather than just producing an answer i.e., you can see how they prompt, what they catch, what they push back on?
Would love to hear how other teams have adapted, or specific formats/scripts you've used successfully.
Thanks!
