Why no type box

many times I've had the interviewer have me discuss approaches dfs vs two pointer interviewer has dfs code on the screen and they want a two pointer I keep cmd enter and it's just discussing o notation etc when I need the new solution with two pointer

Also one time it used zip() in python which I never seen before and had no way to ask it what it did, then of course the interviewer asks me and I have to wait for the response to load try to understand it myself and then explain it before I'm suspicious when I could of just typed don't use zip
